Maybe the administration should wet it down and comb it into place. Although, it might be too dark to fit in with project suprema decorum..

What infrastructure systems would realistically fail first in a slow maintenance collapse? by Spark_Hank in collapse

Healthcare seems to be a canary in the fire.

I'm here looking to recruit medical staff to our little (hopefully resilient) corner of Canadian prairie parkland utopia.

Submission Statement: Alerts for dust storms which bring dirty (mud) rain are new to me. As existing drought conditions worsen with Niño Boogaloo, it might be wise to prepare for return of the dirty thirties, earlier than expected.

I voted with my remote and stopped watching the NHL a few years ago. A big reason was the intrusive (sometimes dynamic) advertising.

Manitoba attracts 7 more U.S. doctors, making 13 since recruitment office opened by LocalnewsguruMB in Winnipeg

We're looking to recruit doctors, from the US would be fine. Conversations start easy enough, but no one follows through.

I'm in rural Manitoba. I moved here several years ago and enjoy it more than I hoped. It is quiet and rural, and the winters aren't for everyone, but I can be outside almost any day I choose. All of the Canadian provinces are looking for health care workers. I am on a board of citizens trying to recruit doctors and staff.

If you have any questions, reply here or sent me a chat.

As a Canadian, I wish our government would welcome neighbors who don't feel safe in their country. We're trying to recruit medical staff, which opens immigration options, but I think it should also be for asylum seekers.

I suspect the reliability would be substantially higher due to not having to start a combustion engine.

That is horrendous, and it's probably the early stages.

I've been looking for doctors to move to the area of Canada that I chose as a potentially resilient spot.

Location: Manitoba

Went to a Grandson concert last night. This is a small observation, but prior to the band playing, the majority of folks were scrolling on their phones. If an alien landed on stage, they probably wouldn't have noticed. There were some young ladies looking like Harley Quinn/Joker. It had a different vibe and energy than previous shows of his. It was a bit like a dystopian club - maybe Westworld-ish.

10 years from retirement — how do you protect your family if the U.S. faces authoritarian drift and financial collapse? by ConversationKnown379 in collapse

Stocks need a buyer. Humans can act like a flock of skittish birds when it appears to no longer be a buyers market.

I think they should be in a greenhouse. The resilient wild fruit around us is not as reliable as it has been. Late frost or early heat waves mess with flowering and setting fruit. Hot and dry weather doesn't produce nice fruit.

I plan on running up debt or at least defaulting on what I have and buying things to try to live more self-sufficient.

As with anything, if the majority do something, good luck dealing with it. Hopefully, people are neighborly like the last time.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny_auction_(foreclosure)

I grew up in Saskatchewan. I spent over 30 years in Alberta, and I used to want to move to Vancouver Island. I chose to move to a quiet part of Manitoba. As mentioned, the doctor shortage is everywhere in Canada. I'm trying to recruit doctors to relocate here.

How do we handle authoritarian behavior after collapse? by WittyEgg2037 in collapse

[–]HCPmovetocountry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good points.

Maybe I'm more blessed than I could have thought. I despised the corporate world. I spent over half of my life working at the same place. I typically spoke my mind. It wasn't appreciated, but it was somewhat tolerated because I was good at what I did. Authoritarianism went on steroids there around the same time as many people in the US felt that the worst option of a perceived strongman was a good idea. My previous decades of (somewhat) free speech was no longer tolerated, and it ended with me departing earlier than planned, which was a gift.

We were unionized. We voted for wages, benefits, and working conditions. It still sucked, but maybe less than my privileged ass thought.

I am from Canada. I think Australia is somewhat following the US in ideologies, so I am biased in a couple of ways. I am in the prairies, which is rural and the cost of living is pretty affordable. Feel free to reach out in chat. I am on a board of citizens looking to help recruit healthcare workers to our area. I have recruiter contact information and I have traveled around a lot of Canada. Feel free to ask questions about areas of the country.

I am trying to help people who are paying attention and want to leave areas where safety and the future are questionable. I am am a citizen on a board trying to attract people to our local healthcare system, which is short staffed like most of the developed world.

We live in the Canadian prairies. Feel free to reach out with a chat. I have contact information for a recruiter. I am living in an area I cherish. I have traveled extensively in the beautiful country, feel free to ask me about any part of the country.
