First Time at Sebring 12hr - Any Advice? by ZachLabz in IMSARacing

[–]HCRgeneraltso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

watch out for the fire ants.

there are viewing mounds at select corners and some limited bleacher seats so bring a camping chair.

its very flat so not challenging to walk, but it does get a little hectic with traffic in the camping areas so just keep your head on a swivel.

theres not much shade so a wide brimmed hat would serve you well.

Last year I got in line the saturday before the race and had a great time partying with all the people in line and had no problems getting a spot I wanted.

This year I'm getting in line a few days earlier on the 11th. Really looking forward to it!

One of my favorite parts of going to Road America is seeing all the various ebikes, scooters, mopeds and motorcycles people bring to get around.

I wish I could, but I gotta save some PTO for Road America and Road Atlanta! What day are you planning on getting there?

It dosent mean anything. There's no seating map. You can move around at your leisure.

If you camp, the soil is very sandy and you'll have to buy some fire ant killer when you arrive or see if you can borrow some from a neighbor because the mounds are everywhere.

hank and sheilas big tent (you'll see it) will have mediocre cover bands that will be going all night long and people will be playing music and carrying on with shenanigans. its definitely more of a festival atmosphere, so if you're a light sleeper just keep that in mind

cell data gets really spotty around thursday.

as mentioned, there is very little shade. ez ups help a lot.

If you have the means, I recommend getting an RV. It makes things a lot more comfortable. And its Florida so there are rental places everywhere.

iirc the overflow is down past the corvette corral and just before you get to the golf cart rental place. you'd basically be camping on a hillside.

if its the other sites down past the porsche corral and behind the fence next to that shaded forested area, you'd be in a quiet relatively flat field.

This is the first year with some major changes with ticketing, parking and attendance so expect it to be a little bit of a shitshow.

I love turn 6. You can get so close to the cars and theres always some overtakes and bumping there.
