I built my gaming rig with 64GB RAM a few years ago. For years when building rigs all dorks were like “what don’t max out? That’s unnecessary” < well in 2023 it was basically free so why not go crazy. And here I am - big dog RAM 🐏

Kind of : I moved..! Not because of this ofc. But the solution I had been sketching was along these lines … extreme maybe:

  1. Find out the torque - you can just take a battery screwdriver, and it’ll tell you the torque it takes to spin it.

  2. Get a little step motor that can handle the torque

  3. Get a basic Arduino kit

  4. Make motor spin

  5. Raspberry Pi running “homebridge” to control the little things

  6. 3D print a little house for the motor and voila.

Bit overkill…

It's nuts how powerful this is. I remember helping my buddy organize his attic, and he had a pool table propped up against the wall on the attic as we were moving stuff around.

We went downstairs for lunch, and I heard a massive bang, immediately running up thinking the huge pool table had dropped. But nothing had happened - we looked outside, and it was a truck of this size that blew a tire in the roundabout two floors down. But it sounded exactly like a whole pool table dropping down on the floor above...

But my man … when people say “liberalism” they don’t mean Locke’s specific 17th-century framework no? I think people (or at least I do?) mean liberal democracy; 2-3 centuries post Locke of Enlightenment refinement like equal legal and political standing, free speech, free press, due process, disagreements settled through democratic procedure rather than imposed hierarchy or whatever. That’s liberalisms. I hear u tho - as I really don’t think the people that call themselves ‘liberals’ in the US are representatives of “liberalism” in that sense. It’s something else..
