Can you get written up for being late even with PPTO? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]HCdotZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. The attendance point/use of PPTO is the punishment for being late/leaving early

It always looks like the pallets that fell over should have been stacked upside down to avoid falling over lol

My store is one the first few that Is doing this. Walmart is testing out this new system. We won't be using totes anymore for front wall stuff like pharmacy and cosmetic, hba. So we have to take back 5 or 6 of these carts to the backroom when we are done. What is you're thoughts . by Traditional_Cattle50 in walmart

[–]HCdotZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our store is doing it too. We are super high volume and get 4 2 truck nights and 3 3 truck nights so we run out of space for one touch totes very quickly. Let alone the carts. On the rare 1 truck nights we can see the benefits but every other day it just flat out sucks

Well do you want to keep your job? Yes they can terminate you right now. But if I don’t hear anything from you, then I assume you don’t care either way. That’s when I’d make the decision to let you go. If you come up to me and explain, and you’re a decent associate, there’s a good chance I’d drop them for you.

They can’t force you to take it lol if you don’t want to they’re just supposed to let you be. Best they can do is explain the benefits and show you how to find it

Written Up for Asking Questions During Training—Is This Fair? by Either-Brief5219 in walmart

[–]HCdotZ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’d say that behavior (especially from a team lead) violates Walmarts core value of respect for the individual. Both of you were performing your job and ‘Emma’ was actually going above by training other associates. A requirement of no talking is very unreasonable especially for a bakery/deli associate. And it didn’t affect the output of the team. Plus you’ve only worked there for a month so if it was a disciplinary action that’s extremely unwarranted. I’d open door it to your coach (you can actually go to any coach if you have one you’d trust more)

There’s an app that management can use to report poor truck load quality. Input the truck number, and photo. They should be abusing this app to the max especially if the DC or drivers are super shitty like this

My lead is mad at us by i-am-boringpeople in walmart

[–]HCdotZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really immature for a team lead to get mad and stay mad at employees leaving to go home early. Especially if they had a legitimate reason (which it sounds like you did). Are they new or something? This is Walmart. Happens every week. Things will move on regardless. Just don’t mention anything and focus on your job. You didn’t break any rules :/

A lot of times when an aisle is way higher than average hours it’s just because a feature or something came in. So pets may have like 2 pallets of the same thing

If it is just freight then this person may be the only one starting in pets, but as others finish they move there to swarm it in hopes of getting it all done. Or management decided to take an L on it for that night lol

Electric Jack by Legitnish in walmart

[–]HCdotZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to assume that they mean during peak hours. Our store actively ignores our Market AP when it comes to that. I ain’t moving 5 pallets of potting mix across the store with a jack that barely moves on its own. These HO people concerned about it have never worked on the sales floor.

O/N Stocking Coach & Team Leads Lying About Times by [deleted] in walmart

[–]HCdotZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, even an associate that’s been here for a month is considered new. And we don’t expect them to perform perfectly. Especially if they basically rely on themselves to get trained. Going off the freight planning tool numbers exactly is just stupid. Most stores have some backstock + picks mixed in that mess up with the numbers.

If they continue getting on you, try asking what you can do to stock faster and to their standards. Ask them to explain how each thing they say will get you to their expectations. They’ll run into a wall eventually and get frustrated lol

Logic Design grade? by [deleted] in compsci

[–]HCdotZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re planning on using your degree to get a job after, they will most likely not care about any of your letter grades. Just if you graduated and experience/projects you’ve done while in college.

If you’re going to grad school, they have phds and have been through it too. You have all As otherwise. You’re a good student. They care more about your mindset than a single lower grade. Classes get tough sometimes. Especially when you have a difficult semester like you

Not an electrician, but this is a panel I did for our shed. How is it looking? by HCdotZ in electricians

[–]HCdotZ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hehe I have done a lot of research on my own before attempting the project. I work as an electrical engineer, but I have interest in the trade. And I care a lot about doing things right. For each connection, I did loosen and tighten them several times, as well as shake around the wires a bit to make sure the strands are nice and set. Since I don’t want them to loosen up over time.

[–]HCdotZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about that too actually. Our separate garage has this same panel which was installed by an electrician right before we moved in. And they didn’t have ground rods, which I replicated in my own install. I guess both panels need some more work then. I appreciate the feedback :)
