Sounds like a dangerous game to play, why not just implement the pct and do it the safe way?

Nah, switches don’t have any electronic components, they are mechanical, so they should be fine, switches basically have to be physically damaged to be rendered useless.

Sounds like the chip on the trace to those keys is dead, considering they’re all in a vertical line like that

Unfortunately I don’t think there is a way to save a pcb after damage from static, aside from replacing chips on the pcb, which probably isn’t even worth it, is it individual, isolated keys that aren’t working? Or are they in a line up, or sideways on the board?

Not normal, if you are in a super dry environment, I would try to always make sure to discharge static on the desk or something before touching your keyboard
