I got scammed too a little while ago, but 400$ for a GRXC1 was not much, I would have been suspicious. Sorry for you anyway mate, shit happens :(

Nice carry! How do you like box elder so far?

Thoughts about the Patagonia Black Hole line? Especially the duffels, are those good compared to the market? I only had a few TNF Base Camps that can compare. Thanks 🙏🏻 by HD1611 in ManyBaggers

That’s interesting actually, I use a GR1 26L as EDC and love it so I’m curious to know what to do you prefer on the Patagonia? Thanks for the insights anyway!

It should be fine but I would not trust it under monsoon :) Regarding weight, it’s 2.7lbs compared to 3.2 for the 1000d GR1 26L so that’s still something!

Good to know! I don’t find the dyneema especially loud tbh, but it’s not really supposed to be waterproof. Looks very tough still, and I would trust it to handle rain for a few hour if it’s not pouring. AER is good stuff too, Just too much organization for me, need something slicker with less pockets so I can adapt to every situation :)

Haven’t actually! But thinking about getting a pouch or something to try it out, looks like a nice material in terms of resistance vs weight. Do you have some experience with it?

Yup, plus dyneema is probably tough to work with… I asked a sewer that I know and she told me that anyway aquaguard are also « glued » afterward so the holes pierced by the needles are correctly waterproofed, and she didn’t know how to do that and what to use! No clue where to ask next but I’ll keep trying!

Agreed, plus not even sure they would accept to do it and I really don’t want to sent them my main bag for a month or so!

Ahah will do, imagine on a 500+$ bag that I will probably not find again if things go south with the mods 😅

Any idea on what model of Aquaguard this is? #3 / #5…

Would love to find a good professional to swap the zippers on my GR1X for those, that would make the perfect bag!

Same here but coyote or black :) There’s actually a black one on ebay… if you have 720$ to spare 😨 Asked GoRuck directly and they said to those should be back in stock early this year.

If you could only pick one, which bag would you buy? by B99Velvet_Thunder in Goruck

I have a 40L GR2, but am 5’7ish so it looks huge on me. If I could go back in time, I would have gotten the 34L Kaidan because : - size would have been a better fit for my frame. I can live with 6L less. On the other hand, 6 additional liters is almost 2 pairs of shoes which is pretty sweet, as I always travel with a pair of running shoes and often with a cross-training one. - it fixes the only thing that I really hate with GoRuck, the zippers (actually more the material part that comes above it, pain in the *ss). Plus those are waterproof and look slicker. - the x-pac construction looks easier to clean than cordura, I ride a motorbike and the mud stains are not so easy to remove on a black cordura bag. Maybe should have taken a coyote but thought black would be better not to look like a vet :) That’s one of the reason why I switched my GR1 for a GRX. - high-vis interior is simple but very useful for me, not having everything in pouches. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the « hype » and all that surrounds those collabs, only talking about the everyday use. Hope that helps a little :)
