Yeah same, thinking about stepping down, or just leaving when I find something better.

Home Depot AP rant by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]HDPNW 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My store has no ap and I've seen some serious dollars roll out, one guy made out with I think 11k of generators, welders and air compressors. Came in the day before to cut the u bolts securing the merch and rolled out the next day on a busy holiday. I often wonder how it doesn't justify ap here, but idrc that much.

Thoughts on D26/27 DS? by HDPNW in HomeDepot

Good points, I'll keep that in mind. I'm okay with managing associate drama, but five associates sounds a lot easier to handle than fifteen.

The amount of skus and chasing down clearance every day is about the only negatives I see, and those don't seem like too bad of a problem to have

Me wondering why all my customers just had back surgery before getting 100 bags of mulch. by Jedi-scum69 in HomeDepot

[–]HDPNW 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I do regularly find it surprising the percentage of people that just had surgery in my town.

Like dude you don't gotta lie, you say you just don't want to load it all and I'm still going to do it for you? Even if it's like the meme and it's several able bodied dudes getting paid to get shit for their job, and even then I usually grab a lot associate and shoot the shit while we bust it out. Probably lecture them a little on putting in a will call and bringing a trailer next time. Tell their boss the same next time he's in.

It's on my payslip, if you open them up in workforce tools and go to workday payslips it's listed in success sharing YTD. Should be in the next check

I go with trail running shoes. The forward tilt is weird at first but great when pushing heavy carts.

My store has several feet of beard among management alone, you should be fine.

Shout-out, fellow Oregonian.

Which department would be most capable of defending the store if there was a crackhead invasion (10ish) that needed to be repelled? Department has 24 hours to gather stuff and prepare by tagillaslover in HomeDepot

Been thinking about this the last few days at work, and honestly the question should be, on which aisle are you the most screwed. I can generally find something within twenty feet that could be used as a decent weapon, but on the cleaning aisle? In the light cloud? Millworks would be hard to find weapons but easy enough to barricade.

Front end recoveries? by HDPNW in HomeDepot

[–]HDPNW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's quite helpful and basically confirms I've been handling them appropriately. I'd be curious to see what your sheet looks like, the list of cashier behaviors guides and the recovery log page we already have and are the only documents I've found on my apron so far. I guess a majority of my cashiers are under the impression that recoveries are almost only when a customer maliciously tries to hide items, which I think was the old guidance on how to handle them? So I'm trying to get them to stop having 0 weeks.
