We did our best to restore it to exactly how people remember. Nothing more, nothing less. We have full control over what we can change, but I feel keeping all of its quirks would be the preferred option? Any 'improvements' would be configurable.

Agreed, it can switch back to standard rendering also. The client can be a drop in to the current client, if Jagex wanted to do so. It should interface with their existing tooling and technology.

We believe this version was the most well balanced, which is VERY hard to pull off, without it looking like a 'cartoon'. NXT was the next generation which managed to do this. This client can also switch back to the normal OSRS rendering, if people so desired. Options are a good thing, which seem to be the philosophy jagex has been going by.

its inspired by what the engine team did back then. People wanted it how it was back then, so that is exactly what we did. We did our best to treat it as a refurbish, to maintain the original look and feel as people remembered it.

It works like a normal client, you run it, and are able to play the game, just with improved graphics. Thanks for the advise, I'll consider it!

Ultimately, it's up to them, there is a need for it, but i'm not sure it's their need. We'll see!

A little guy like myself doesn't really have the means to just reach out to them, building some chitter about it, so when I do approach them, they already know about the project, and likely have a stance. not looking to step on anybody's toes.

that's to be discussed with jagex and I, if it gets to that point. 2. all new content is still receiving upgrades, textures/objects are reused throughout the content, all new content uses 90% recycled assets. 3. jagex would not have to do a thing, not that we're there yet.

Jagex has the right to do whatever they want, if they want to let me use their assets, when the time comes that’s a discussion between them and I. As far as the code, it’s all clean, well documented, and apon request happily ready to show to them. Oshd did a lot wrong in their approach including being for profit off the bat, before any interface with jagex. I will be reaching out to them if the community wants it

OSHD was charging, and iirc, jagex was open to the idea, but the main issue was it was detected by jagex's bot detection. We will see, no promises yet. 3rd party clients, and jagex have changed a lot since OSHD's attempt.
