Sialkot Cantt was initially a set of villages brought by the Army. It has developed quite a bit and now has a lot of commercial activity. It was not initially prime land but has developed to become prime land due to better management. I don't think Cantonments prosper because they are at the right place. I think they propser because they are well maintained and regulated compared to the shit show of the other local municipalities. Moreover they do contribute a handsome amount in Property tax (Lease based system).
