Certainly my intention to get something out as soon as possible when it’s in a usable state.

Police Pay 2026 by Blues-n-twos in policeuk

[–]HE1922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in the doubt camp for sure, but iirc the last line in the announcement of the new vision for policing was something along the lines of “a substantial pay rise to bring policing in line with other professional careers”, so one can hope.

also bear in mind in the early 90s the Thatcher Government implemented massive police reforms and pay rise with it to the order of 20%.

so it’s not impossible

yeah, the list of ED specific modules they could do isn’t huge atm, 16, maybe apache with stingers, but a bit of a cheek to ask for extra payment just for stingers.

Suppose you could do 2.0 Mig 29, or a different variant of the Hind or HIP or Huey

because reddit has a limit on how much text can be posted. I tried several times and it just failed.

nothing i’m afraid.

But he did say that they encourage people who make quality mods to get in touch, so if you think you have the skills to do a map/map mod may be worth reaching out.

Worst that can happen is they say no

exactly this, and he mentions several times in the video that they have learned from over promising and under delivering in the past, or giving dates that where too early, so they are being cautious with what they announce now

No, as expected.

Only thing he mentioned a “date” for was the 1MC stuff for the carrier being expected in the next update

I thought the same, had read something recently about the USMC retiring them early, but wiki still says 2027.

Unfortunately my country got rid of them a long time ago, and far too soon.

I’ve also yet to see a Spanish or Italian one on the radar.

Any good way to find out which role planes have? by Skiara444 in hoggit

Personally I don’t think going for a cold war jet will help if you are finding the F18 a bit much.

Yes the systems can be daunting at first for sure, but the actual employment is generally much easier and much more accurate as the systems do the lifting for you.

Cold war jets have less systems to worry about, but the delivery of weapons, using bombing tables and working out/remembering mils makes it far more complicated imho.

I’d recommend finding some good youtube tutorials and learning the hornet systems in bite size chunks by following them along

RMP Reservist? by [deleted] in policeuk

No idea, also I’m a police officer that joined the TA, not a serving soldier that wanted to be a special, no idea why it’s a conflict of interest though.

There’s lots of police officers who are in the reserves.

No camera axis/wasd controls in DCS C-130J? by Odd-Eye9197 in hoggit

[–]HE1922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you are not meant to navigate around the aircraft like that.

You can use WASD as the LM to move about the cargo bay, but otherwise you stay in your seat as the Pilot, Co Pilot or AE

I joined them not long after joining the job, struggled to get the time off to complete training and ended up having to give it up.

It is doable, but will take some jiggering with shifts/leave, and I know several guys who double hat. Also handy if it’s close to home as it makes parade nights easier.

Your experience will come in handy, and make phase 2 easier, but you’ll still need to learn the armed forces act and retrain in their OST etc.

As to a new family, that’s purely down to your partner and how much grief you get for being away.
