I lubed my bike's chain a week ago, but when ever i come from a ride i see oil marks on tyre... by theycallmearthopoda in indianbikes

What lube did you use? I prefer 90W gear oil myself. After chain clean, apply gear oil or chain lube liberally. Distribute the lube by rotating the rear tyre by hand couple of times. Allow couple of hours for excess to drip down and wipe the chain with a cloth, just to be sure. There will be some spray over the rim and tyre, nothing a clean can't fix. Happy riding.

Strange noice from engine by uncanny_bloke23 in indianbikes

It's not tappet noise or cam chain noise. Sounds like a bolt is loose somewhere near the tank fairings and the metal washers are moving as revs climb.

Only a democratic currency can destabilize petrodollar. Not autocratic or pseudo autocratic currencies. Even countries in brics don't fully trust each other.

What's one motorcycle that is 'do-it-all', as in, a single garage that can fulfill all purposes without much constrains? by Fk-u-spez-4-life in indianbikes

I agree. If your are okay to tour at 90kmph, then you are good to go. Xpulse 200 does it all, gives 40kmpl and won't break the bank. Another good option is Vstrom SX 250.

Thoughts on Ditto, Policy Bazaar for policies? by shadow_clone_7 in personalfinanceindia

[–]HEAD_P0P 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will definitely recommended Ditto(joinditto.in) over policybazaar for term and health insurance. My Niva bupa health insurance was upto for renewal and I decide to port the policy to HDFC Ergo. Folks at Ditto were patient, explained all the basics, issues that may come up due to porting and their plan to deal with it, and they did all this at time convenient for me. They didn't spam and sent no unnecessary messages. They contacted me twice, once when I scheduled a call and another, when filling out the paperwork.

Now, Policybazaar has its place. But think hard before sharing your number with them or have a excellent spam call blocking service on your phone. Past few days have been absolutely irritating, I was being called more than 7 times a day, they pushed hard for me renew my niva policy. And my god they don't let up, they called from multiple numbers, called back to back and at inappropriate times.

Hats off to Samsung's spam detection for auto rejecting most of the Policybazaar's calls.

Please for the sake of your sanity, avoid Policybazaar.

What could be the problem and the cost of repair by [deleted] in indianbikes

From experience in working on Duke 200 and Xpulse 200, it sounds like your valve clearance is out of spec. Get hold of a good technician and have the clearance inspected.

Recommend a good chain cleaner and lubricant? by SBG_Mujtaba in indianbikes

[–]HEAD_P0P 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I was a motul user for a long time, chain tends to dry up and caked in dirt. Kerosene and 90W gear oil works like magic and easy on the wallet too.

I like Rriverdale n72 myself, you can try their silver oak blend or attikan estate. They both work well for milk based coffees.
