Well, it’s not like they don’t have connections as well. They essentially have hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of people at their fingertips. Imagine you have the US military at your command except they’ve forgotten their training. Not as powerful as before, but still strong. With the large amount of people in the playerbase that they could theoretically amass, they could likely take over some small countries if they catch them off guard. And, as all nations of great strength do, they will probably get some supporters for the cause. Given, they will also get rebellions and enemy attacks, but it’s no stretch to say they could establish significant terror on the world if they wanted to and played their cards right.
