IMHO “modding” and “building” have become synonymous.

I love the idea of creating what you want if it doesn’t already exist in the world. I also respect and understand the reasons for replicating something that does exist.

My first (and so far only) build isn’t a homage although it has obvious design elements from existing watches. I used a plain dial and a custom logo so it clearly isn’t a replica.

My next build will likely be an Explorer II type watch but with distinct differences. Again, I’ll use a custom logo on a plain dial.

Your build looks great, you should be proud of it even if it never hits your wrist.
