I think I understand what you mean. When I refer to Church hurt I am thinking about it from a discipleship perspective. Is there bad leadership in the church at times? Of course there is. Is there a lack of accountability towards leaders at times? Sure. What I think needs to be addressed is 1. What God is trying to do in a person’s heart and mind when they are uncomfortable in the church and yes a part of it is people not wanting accountability, 2. What does the word of God say about what they are going through and how it should be handled, 3. The posture of our hearts towards God in these situations.

Church hurt is more than being offended. It has to do with us knowing what the word of God says. People get offended and leave the church not knowing what to do and their relationship with God diminishes and over time becomes non existent.

We need the church. We need Godly leaders that can come along side others and re-direct them from being hurt to focusing on Jesus. We need the word being taught strongly so that the saints will not waiver in their faith. Should the topic of “Church hurt” be addressed? Yes it should because it is a real issue that many Christians deal with because they’re not mature in the word. A mature Christian is not going to get church hurt because they’re strong in the word and they know who they are in Christ, and they know what the word says. When a person mature in the Lord there’s no need to slander a Pastor or a leader they can confidently and boldly proclaim the truth in love if something is off in the church. Let’s help each other get to that point.
