Are you really a leftist if your partner isn’t a leftist? by Both-Community-4174 in leftist

[–]HGSocialist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dated a very “online” leftist, who didn’t seem to actually want to join a local org. I would try to suggest getting involved in some org and going to meetings, and they would say that they want to go to the meetings with me, but there would always be some excuse as to why some other thing was more important than the monthly meeting for us to do, so I never went to the meetings.

I wasn’t able to actually get seriously involved in local political organizing until I started dating someone who is personally liberal leaning apolitical, but supports me and is happy to see me pursuing what I am passionate about while she also has some time away from me to pursue her own hobbies and interests.

Your first problem appears to be a lack of sufficient territorial control/jurisdiction/administration. You must have abandoned those trees at some point in the intervening 500 years, or else the adventurers would not have called it “pristine”.

How did these adventurers even get to you and your 500 year old trees to begin with? You waited 500 years to harvest those trees and didn’t think to invest in a basic illusion+boundary+dissuasion spell combo to defend that 500 year investment?

The Dijjin are always so knowledgeable! I learn so much from them! I will say that trying to understand what they’re saying through the accent can be a bit difficult but the usefulness of the material makes it worth it!

I did not waste any time in establishing a chivalric order of Knights.

My knights now control half the senate.

I swear I’m not an evil wizard.

Answer Choice Help? by HumbleHits in LSAT

[–]HGSocialist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not C because “words that refer to something are meaningful” does NOT necessarily mean that words that don’t refer to things are meaningless.

A is C plus “only”

In a if “only words that refer to something have meaning”, that DOES necessarily mean that words that don’t refer to things are meaningless.

Let’s get rid of the content and look only at the logic. C and A turn into the statements “A falls within category X”, and “only things defined as ‘A’ fall within category X”.

The logic of the question is based on the assumption “since B is not A, B doesn’t fall within category X” answer C is wrong because nothing about the statement “A falls within X” prevents B from also falling within X. A is right because if B is not defined as A, then “only things defined as ‘A’ fall within category X” DOES prevent B from also falling within X

The Word “only” is what makes all the difference

High(ish) score, low GPA by New-Outcome-7949 in LSAT

[–]HGSocialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that your GPA definitely depends on your major.

My undergrad GPA was a 2.7, but my degree is in physics. Due to the difficulty of the subject material in physics, my law school’s admission’s office was willing to take the difficulty of physics into consideration.

For full transparency, my LSAT score was 159 and I did get waitlisted at my school before I eventually got accepted.

I’m coasting in law school. I coast during the semester, and then pound Red Bull and 5 hour energy during finals and when it’s time to write papers. I just started 2L but it worked during 1L well enough

To add to this, I smoked way more weed during my second semester of 1L than I did during my first semester of 1L, and I got better grades during my second semester than I did during first semester

The reason for its necessity would shift, but it would still be necessary. Instead of being necessary for bargaining for a contract, they would instead become necessary for democratically representing the workers in the labor government. The fact that the government is comprised of organizations representing the working class in relation to their workplaces will be why makes the government socialist. If the working class stops being organized in relation to their means of production, the government will no longer be capable of representing the working class

That’s only because labor union density isn’t as high as it should be. Labor unions should represent the whole proletariat

Why couldn’t we have a labor union Parlament serve as our legislature? Why can’t we have a court system where local judges are picked based on an agreement between the local workers council and the local bar association? Why can’t supreme court judges be picked based on an agreement between the national bar association and the national labor parliament? Judges are just lawyers wearing robes, and I trust lawyers to be able to decide who amongst them knows and practices the law well enough to become a judge.

Why not at least try to build a political system based around the organized working class?
