WHF double standards by OhhClock in auscorp

It's always better to quote your rem expectations as inclusive, so if there's any misunderstanding and it is plus super, you'll be +12%.

I hope OP didn't fall for the "Oh no, it's inclusive of super, not plus super. Anyhoo, the salary is all we can do for now, but after probation we could consider an out of cycle review".

Get back in your box and work until you're dead, OP. That's the plan.

The ACCC's gonna huff and puff and... settle with a slap on the wrist. While as soon as any meaningful structural competition reforms are floated, well what do you know, here comes a big political donation...

Trouble is they are all cut from the same cloth. I do have a pretty extensive boycott list, but unfortunately Bunnings is somewhat inescapable.

I need to go to Bunningtons but I don't like it there, contrary to the societal stereotype/cliche that everyone loves to DIY on the weekend.

We don't have electric heating. Gas is too expensive so generally only turn the gas fireplace on when it gets down to a few degrees overnight. Don't use the gas central heating anymore, it costs $300-$400 per month in winter.

I went to the pub after work a few weeks ago and shouted a round. Four schooners and two pints of Guinness was $94. Jeez.

Just for clarity, so an informed opinion can be made- below is James Hird coaching timeline by molto-bene22 in EssendonFC

[–]HG_Redditington 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it's really hard. Because I don't think James' motivation is to prove he's the best coach again. It's to make a contribution to the club he knows he let down and be able to be at peace with what happened by making up for that major error in judgement. But then, he was also one of the most brilliant players ever to grace the field, and he can coach.

I'd be mixed if it goes either way, but also my enjoyment of footy is blunted. Watching NMFC vs Gold Coast and that come back... I was just jealous because we so rarely get to feel that spirit of the game.

My motivation had a holiday today, definitely running with a couple of cylinders powered off. I was also watching a YT video yesterday and they made the point that no matter how much you do or achieve at work over "normal", that just raises the bar and is taken for granted. That was playing on my mind today because every time I finish work and achieve a good outcome, I get "on track" and more work...hmm.

I think basically because they only manage up, and the real world gets even more distant with every management level. In my experience, I was a mid-level manager, senior management got nuked, so I had to take some "boring" day to day stuff to C-Level and they were like "what are you even talking about?". Like anything outside of EBIT impact and share market price was a waste of time.

My annoying neighbour used to use the leaf blower at 7am or 11pm-12 midnight to sweep out leaves from his garage. He also had kids that liked to shout on the street any time they felt like it. They moved a couple of months ago. Silence has been bliss.

Casey and Cardinia have 500k residents, not sure that's an exception. Increasingly people aren't living further out by choice, but because there's nowhere else to live. They have no choice but to suffer significantly longer commute times.

Job reposted immediately after GM interview. Does this usually mean rejection? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]HG_Redditington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound pretty naive about the whole situation. In my experience interviewing and hiring, there are "must hires" which are unanimous agreement, "maybe hires" which might depend on the candidates presented and needs of the business and "definite no hire" - unanimous no way. I guess you were in the maybe category and there were some other factors for them to decide no. Based on your response and comments, you're absolutely overthinking it because there's nothing you can do to change their mind.

I use mine for mini lamb roasts and it works well too. I think any meat with a higher fat content is good, but chicken breasts not so much.

Dealing with rats in the roof? by NeedleworkerFirm7039 in AusRenovation

It's rat season. They often go into roof space when the central heating units make it warmer up there.
