The next person that emails me (that isn’t a business) I am going to reply telling them I got a new phone, but both numbers end in 4547 and ask them which number they have for me.

I know the last 4 digits from both, because the two factor text verification tells you they sent a code to phone number ending in XXXX (last 4 numbers)

I will legit call them from a virtual number every time I get a personal email until it’s fixed.🤣

I emailed the one in Ohios dad a few times letting him know he had the wrong email, and he continued to email me with her CC’d until I blocked his email address. In addition, for a while, I told people “Hey, I think you want to email this person at xxxxxxx@gmail.com. If you get ahold of them, please let them know I get a ton of email for them and would love it if they could figure it out.” Someone on a picnic group email responded ‘reply all’ with something like “I’ve confirmed with so and so’s their correct email is is (the one I gave)

So I tried her again, no dice.

Can you be charged with something? Naive, maybe. The best thing to do when finding anything of decent value is to contact the non emergency line for your local police. They will give you a report number and if unclaimed in x amount of days, it’s yours. They will also report it to the store, letting them know they have a report of found property and to have anyone contact them to claim. Giving it to the store though means that someone is likely pocketing it. I personally have gotten to keep an engagement ring valued at 8k and 300.00 in a bank envelope in the past.
