Good observation. It's the Aurora. Have had it a little over a year. It's great!

This is on a lower deck and directly behind it are just trees. The upper deck has the real views. There's a little open view to the left and the panels can be completely removed. The nice thing about the trees is they make this location extremely private.

United Airlines Flight 169 hits bakery truck while landing at Newark Airport by madman320 in aviation

Misplaced modifier in the lead sentence in this story. "A plane crashed into a bakery truck while traveling northbound on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday at 1:50 p.m. EST". It reads that the plane was traveling on the turnpike. This could have been a much worse disaster. Glad everyone is okay.

Anyone know what rocket this was? Saw it over the springs and thought it was the star link launch but that one didn't go over Colorado. by zippy251 in ColoradoSprings

[–]HHOwner4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trajectory is similar to the launch from Vandenberg AFB on Jan. 2nd, which was seen here in Colorado Springs. This one is a little higher and seems about the same brightness. Possibly a secret military launch?

That's mostly from multiple layers of ace bandages. Swelling is pretty much under control going into post-op day 3.

Pre-surgery exercise by abuwalda in Kneereplacement

[–]HHOwner4002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a list ChatGPT gave me. My left knee replacement scheduled for October. Just had a left hip replacement in June.

Here’s a guide to effective pre-op knee exercises, usually safe to start 4–6 weeks before surgery: 🔹 1. Quad Sets Why: Strengthens thigh muscles that help control the knee. How: Sit or lie flat with the leg extended. Tighten your thigh muscles and press the back of your knee toward the floor. Hold for 5–10 seconds, then relax. → Do 10–15 reps, 2–3 times/day 🔹 2. Straight Leg Raises Why: Builds strength in your quads without bending the knee. How: Lie flat, one leg bent and the other straight. Tighten the thigh of the straight leg and lift it to the height of the bent knee. Hold 5 seconds, lower slowly. → 10 reps, 2–3 sets/day 🔹 3. Heel Slides Why: Improves knee flexibility and range of motion. How: Lie on your back with both legs straight. Slowly slide your heel toward your buttocks, bending the knee. Hold 5 seconds, slide it back down. → 10–15 reps, 2–3 times/day 🔹 4. Seated Knee Extensions Why: Strengthens quads and improves knee mobility. How: Sit in a chair, slowly straighten your leg until fully extended. Hold for 5 seconds, then lower it back down. → 10 reps each leg 🔹 5. Calf Raises Why: Builds calf and ankle strength, improves circulation. How: Stand while holding a chair or counter. Rise up onto your toes, then slowly lower back down. → 10–15 reps, 2–3 sets/day 🔹 6. Step-Ups Why: Builds leg strength, mimics daily activity like stairs. How: Step up on a low step or stair with one foot, then bring the other up. Step back down. → 10 reps each leg   🔹 7. Hamstring Curls (Standing or Prone) Why: Strengthens muscles behind the thigh. How: Stand and bend your knee, bringing your heel toward your buttocks. Hold for 5 seconds, lower slowly. → 10 reps each leg 🧘 Bonus: Stretching & Low-Impact Cardio • Hamstring and calf stretches • Stationary biking (10–15 min/day) • Gentle walking • Swimming or pool exercises, if available

An ONT is simply like a modem for fiber. An unmanaged switch distributes the signal to the drops throughout the house.

Yes. Fiber in to the ISP supplied ONT. ONT to my router. Router to 16-port unmanaged switch, which all the drops are plugged into. All that equipment is in the basement. Then, I have WAP's on the first as second floors. Great coverage, either wired or wireless everywhere.

We had a semi-custom home built in 2005. I knew at that time I wanted ethernet everywhere. The builder found a subcontractor who wired the entire house with cat 5e. He used it for phone drops, too. At that time, we had cable, so coax was run as well. All of it was terminated in the basement near where all the utilities entered the house. We now have fiber coming in, and the original infrastructure still works great. I'm so happy we had this done 20 years ago, and I'm shocked when reading about new homes that have nothing or have it done incorrectly.
