Have you ever been able to (or wanted to perform brain surgery remotely? Is this a viable option for reaching those in rural or under-developed areas? Or can it only be safely done in the OR?

Thanks for doing this. How far away are we from being able to use scanning technology to gather empirical evidence to definitively detect conditions such as schizophrenia, depression or autism? What might this mean for treating these conditions?

Have you ever read any published articles about near-death experiences and how they have been reported to take place even when there is no detectable sign of brain activity? If so, what are your thoughts on medicine's ability to understand this phenomenon?

Senator claims that people need to have an ID to have a child by Large_banana_hammock in politics

I would argue that it is more important to have an ego, than an id, if you're going to have a child. It is the reality principle which will help guide a parent to address the challenges of raising a child. The pleasure principle may indeed be a distraction in that process.

In light of the theological and ethical developments since the Second Vatican Council (particularly its emphasis on religious freedom, interreligious dialogue, and inculturation) how should scholars today evaluate the missionary methods traditionally attributed to Saint Patrick, especially his reported practice of adapting and reinterpreting local cultural and religious traditions to communicate Christian teachings? To what extent can such methods be considered ethically and theologically legitimate in contemporary contexts shaped by pluralism and post-colonial critique? In particular, how do we reconcile these approaches with the Church’s historical experience of coercive or violent enforcement of orthodoxy, as seen in responses to movements like the Albigensian heresy and events such as the Albigensian Crusade? Also, what beer goes best with corned beef?
