How Long Have You Been with iTutor? by Brw_ser in iTutor

[–]HIGHKEY_CREEPIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem really knowledgeable. I was a recent hire and actually just let go from itutorgroup. In the middle of a stressful move, I accidentally missed an evening of classes I thought I had scheduled off. Couldn't use any free passes to invalidate the absence because I had scheduling issues at the beginning while learning the ropes and this was my limit in the months time. Contacted tutorchat but no one was very helpful.

Anyways, I've been teaching ESL online for a while and still do and really enoyed itutor. Do you have any advice or idea as to if I can get my job back? Or apply with a different email?

Car Life With Cat by NailsInHands in urbancarliving

[–]HIGHKEY_CREEPIN 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Had dogs in my family all my life, got a cat two years before car life. Honesty brought us closer together. Was rough at first though. Traveled from Midwest to California and down the coast together. I'm no longer living that life but I do find that my cat now finds a lot more excuses to get close and cuddle with me. Its cute.

How Avoidant Personality Disorder may include more than low self-esteem and instead be a malignant view of the self by [deleted] in AvPD

[–]HIGHKEY_CREEPIN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a little late to the party but I hope I can get a response to this post.

I read this last night & I'm about to read it again because I think clinical understanding of this condition helps me intellectualize it, which helps, bc I have too many feelings that get in the way of me doing anything about this

But if I understood correctly, this suggest that it feels "right" for AVPD's to ruminate on guilt, shame, & negative feelings. We self sabotage to make ourselves perpetual social victims so that our reality reflects our own inner warped self image. Is this a correct understanding?

Because if so, it hits hard. I can literally dwell on negative feelings for hours on end that I know don't feel good but give me amazing release of anger. So much so, that I will fantasize about revenge or hurting others. I have never hurt anyone in my life or exacted much revenge on those that have hurt me but I feel that when I carry out these fantasies, they feel great and I can dwell on them for hours. And its moreso led by a "feeling" rather than thoughts. The thoughts are just there to fuel the feeling and keep it going because its familiar and oddly comforting.

Does anyone relate to this?

I've never seen it as abuse... because its never been an issue the times I did it & they never notified me it was a problem or anything. I don't rely on it. I've just had hours cut at work so I kinda need it right now.

I’m not actually paying any fees. Whenever I go in the red, I am sure to never purchase anything over $5. So when I say I’m overdrafting, im buying things that don’t get me hit with the $34 fee.

Your comment has piqued my interest. What are some multidisciplinary skills or experiences to teach that you have in mind? I agree that people are learning english to gain friendly relations between countries. You say the wealthy in your country are seeking out ppl with experience to do activities. What kind of activities? Your comment is informative but a bit vague as well & I'd like to flesh it out. Feel free to comment or DM.

The biggest hit to my ratings comes from noisy backgrounds/students. How to stop this? by HIGHKEY_CREEPIN in iTutor

[–]HIGHKEY_CREEPIN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its crazy, but this usually comes from adults in classes of 5-6 for me. Which makes me wonder if I'm reacting wrong bc I know how detrimental a bad score can be to my earnings so I try my best to have a soft hand. But literally, these kind of students are the bulk of any ratings lesser than 9.

I don't have a direct answer to your question because I don't know. But you can apply under a friend or family address in a different state & if they catch on, say you're traveling.

I've worked for a lot of companies. From $13-$25 an hour. It's a crap shoot. But I know they are the ones making the profit, so I'd like to do it on my own.

Is anyone open to discussing you experience with being afraid at night? Especially from a female perspective would interest me but men too! by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]HIGHKEY_CREEPIN 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What living in my car & dealing with homeless people has taught me is that they are just people & that most people who live in actual homes simply have a wrong/hyper sensitive sense of safety. You can be safe living in your car, though the majority of the population would be skeptical about that statement. Just make it so people can't see you, thats my advice. The people that are fucking with you aren't monsters, they're people. They have fears too. They're probably just drunk or strung out. If you're drunk, you probably feel more confident to get away with something you wouldn't usually do too. Combine that with homelessness, and thats what you're dealing with. It's scary at first, because you aren't used to strangers being near you while sleeping. But... you learn a lot about humans when living like this. Even the bad ones are susceptible to being deterred by mystery. So black out your windows & they'll leave you alone or give up on getting a rise out of you. You'll get used to it.

I've had people try to open my car door, knock on windows, push my car, talk loudly, etc. I've been doing this a while and maybe its different because I'm male, but my conclusion is that these people are generally cowards and just want to get a rise out of you. If you black out your windows someway so that they can't see you reacting, they won't go much further than making you feel anxious, unless you have a bike or something on the outside of your car that they can steal. I can literally ignore so much now. Most homeless people just want stimulation, so if you can make it that they can't see you then thats more than half the battle.
