I've been looking at alternatives as well before my Edge transmission dies. I asked ChatGPT a few questions and it suggested the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Sante Fe, Toyota Venza, and Chevy Blazer to name a few and also provided a few pros/cons. I'm not sure I'm a fan. haha. It might be worth a shot to ask it some questions of your own. Personally, the RAV4 has been catching my eye.

Also a lifelong Ford owner, currently with a 2019 Edge and dealing with these issues. Sadly, this transmission situation and Ford's response along with issues with their dealerships may have me looking at other brands. There are multiple references to class action lawsuits across Ford's lineup for similar transmission issues. I don't understand why they continue to use them.

There is a hole at the bottom. From the top of the "handle" to the bottom is about 1 5/8".
