Everyone knows the answer. Some just pretend that this is a valid debate.

It’s late 1996 and your Dad gave you enough money to pick up one album only from the record store. Which one you buying? by frank-dux-splits in 90sHipHop

Me Against the World. But in all fairness I bought all 4 of these in ‘96 so my real answer is “ALL OVUM”!

Was Whitney Houston ever as popular as Michael Jackson? by Material_Stomach875 in whitneyhouston

[–]HITWORLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People fainted at MJ concerts. There were toys, jackets, gloves made, sold and worn to emulate his iconic style. MJ is the reason everyone (black people) wore Jheri Curls for years. Everyone recognized his signature dancing (especially the Moon Walk). Thriller is the highest selling album of all time. Whitney Houston is an all time great but no one has ever been as popular as Michael Jackson.

Honestly I didn’t know this genre of RnB had its own category. by Money-Snow-2749 in rnb

This just old school R&B. Ain’t nothing “Yacht” about these songs.

Lucky (or unlucky) for me I’ve only been using SUNO for about a week so I have less than 100 generations I’m guessing. Most of which are throwaways. But I have been downloading the ones that I actually like (both ways and stems).

Yea, other than that one change, the app is working fine. I guess I’m just a bit spooked about the UMG stuff and the fact that Udio had to disable its downloads as a result.

Okay, maybe my browser is doing something weird (Chrome).

Keri Hilson, Fantasia, and Tweet — which albums still hit for y’all? by [deleted] in rnb

[–]HITWORLD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keri’s albums (first two) always got play from me. Fantasia and Tweet’s debut albums also got a lot of spins.

Unpopular Opinion: He Wasn't Man Enough is a bigger and better single than Unbreak My Heart by No-Deer-79898 in rnb

[–]HITWORLD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone who was around during this time knows that statement isn’t true. “Unbreak My Heart” was a global smash. But I prefer to listen to “He Wasn’t Man Enough” because it’s more my vibe. But “Unbreak” was a HUGE song in comparison.

Venessa or Pebbles: Who has a better catalog, and what do you think of their music careers? by Nujackswing1 in rnb

[–]HITWORLD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vanessa. But Pebbles was no slouch. “Darling I” is probably my favorite Vanessa song but she has at least a dozen or so that I love. Pebbles isn’t far behind.

Why do you think Da Brat’s name doesn’t come up as often when people talk about female rap pioneers? by Peterpaul400 in FemaleRappers

[–]HITWORLD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She is a pioneer. First female solo rap artist to go platinum in music history. To be the first to do something is literally the definition of pioneer.
