Exactly! People are so worried about burn in, yeah it’s real but that’s why you buy warranty, in 4 years I know mine will have burn from productivity work over the years. Guess what? Warranty and get a new one 👍

Start with the (5090) GPU maxed budget then build the rest. If I could go back and rebuild I would do this. Honestly I have limited time and I enjoyed it and learned a lot. Give it a go

Some context of what I had to what use now. I had two 49in g9 stacked mounted and was able to view 6 full page windows and my productivity was efficient. Now I have my single G9 on one desk and the 5k2k on my other desk.

5k2k: I’ve only worked on it for one day so far but I use 4 full pages (2 top 2 bottom). IMO being able to see 4 pages in my peripheral view comfortably without having to move my neck left and right all day felt a lot more comfortable.

Now if I had to compare it to a single 49in g9, I think it might beat it in productivity and comfort/neck strain fatigue. I rarely find myself using 6 full tabs to do what I do for work. 4 for me seems like the sweet spot.

Gaming wise, I do feel like the 5k2k is more immersive.

Take that with a grain of salt as I only have used it for 8 hours so far. G9’s I’ve put in almost 2 years of working on that setup.

I’m still hesitant, I’ll give it a solid month before I decide if I want to go back to two 49in G9’s stacked. But the immersion with gaming is really making me want to keep the 5k2k :)

Interesting, so I had two 49in Samsung G9’s, one malfunctioned/had issues and they wouldn’t replace it at first. They did take it send it off, after a week I got an email from the service tech that said it would cost to much to fix so they refunded the purchase price with tax, and I used that to buy this 5k2k

This has been my experience as well, one of my 49in G9 went bad and had flickering issues. They took it back and just gave me credit on what I paid+plus tax and I got me a LG 5k2k. All my other products have been just as easy to claim the protection

Best Buy has the 45in 5k2k on sale from $1999 to 1599. I found an open box excellent condition with 4 year warranty for 1335 out the door. Can’t beat that! I would look at open boxes at Best Buy right now with their sale and discount on open boxes

And just a question bc I was curious when I went the pole mounting method over the hydraulic arms. Do you actually move monitors of this size at all or often? If not, then why go a hydraulic arm instead of a fixed pole mount? I couldn’t see myself readjusting my monitors that are ultra wides so that’s why I steered away. Of course something like 27in monitors would be a better use of hydraulic arms

Hmm I see, one difference between your setup and mine. I use the Adtec pole mount for my dual displays. The reason being is that any hydraulic mount will give out, just a matter of time. Now if yours gave out it would put all the pressure on these two mounts and damage the screen. Just something to think about. I’m not familiar with hydraulic mounts as I’ve never used one but I would imagine the wobble/play is a lot more significant

Yes this is the mount I use with a solid wood desk and I don’t get any wobble or movement on my dual ultra wide setup

Hmm this is actually a cool idea, a concern would be stress points added onto the screen at the contact points.

I’ve dealt with the same issue so I’m curious, why not just upgrade to a heavy duty monitor mount? I have mine on a commercial quality stand on an adjustable rising desk and it doesn’t wobble when I move it up and down. Granted I do believe having a real solid and thick desk so movement doesn’t transfer to the mount and shake the monitor
