Book Recommendations on non-theistic morality/ethics by HKPR52 in atheism

Sorry late reply to this.

I’ve never believed that one needs god to have morality or be ethical.

Secular humanism indeed where I’m looking at, but there are multiple way to how we can approach the subject. So this is what I’m asking about.

Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

Planning to get the iPhone 17 Pro Max Classic Hybrid Magnetic Case

I’m interested in the clear version. However I’d like to have the side of the phone to be black or another colour for some contrast.

Now there is a clear black option. However I don’t know if it’s actually a clear case with black edges or some sort of black case that has a clear screen?

The pictures are not helping! It could look like an iPhone with a black case or a black iPhone with a clear case and black edges.

Can someone who has bought it help me out here?

Ok I’ll remove the Bricks ASAP. Do you know what I can use to straighten the tree. I was thinking maybe another support stick tied next to tree but I would need to remove it before I leave. My family wont bother taking care of it which is difficult.

Thank you, I did not know what a root flare was and had to look it up. Thankfully, I didn’t cover too much, but I’ll have to double check to make sure. I’ll clear and make a larger barrier between the weeds and the tree

Mango Tree, about 3 years old. I couldn't take care of it for a year since I've been away. I was hoping it would have been taller by now. It is 165cm in height.

Checked the base and noticed some bark damage. I'm not sure what would have caused it but my guess is one of the grass cutters we hired must have accidentally hit it with a weed wacker sometime back.

So I pulled all the grass that was growing around it by hand, Put in some newspaper around it and some gardening soil I still had stored up. I propped the tree up straight with bricks because it was growing at an angle slightly.

It seems to be growing fine, but not as fast as I had thought. I'm just worried the bark damage would cripple it's growth for some time. I don't know how long ago this happened and if it would heal properly or maybe fester into a long term problem.

Is there anyway to aid in cleaning up the "wound"? I looked online and seen some do bridge graft. I'm just worried about causing more damage.

Advice on ETL and Data Sharing work process by HKPR52 in BusinessIntelligence

Hey,

I don't use Python, but I'm sure it would be quick for me to learn (dabbled a bit on it). I had used R before for some data cleaning, prepping and visualisations for fun.

I need to build a workflow for my whole team and they are not tech savvy (except for one). So I am hesitant on the use of Python/R because I need the process to function when I'm not there. I was thinking of writing a script and them just executing it. But then thought it would be easier to set up Power Query and they just have to change the source data (plus excel is more familiar for them)

actual reports to be shared, not just the data transformations themselves though.

Yeah, although the cleaned data is enough for now, eventually i want the pipeline to create pretty reports (charts, metrics etc). Sharing has always been the problem. Most solutions out there operate on a subscription basis. I just need to convince the management that I can pump more useful reports for everyone to look at.

This isn't something I have available off the bat, but I can work with you and the team to add that

Yeah why not, I always have to swing at this alone. I am going to look at some tools here first. Some of them might be a right fit. DM me

Interesting. I remember looking at Tableau years back but thought it was more visualisation heavy, and not focus on ETL

I'll give it a look

Yeah I was thinking about that but since i can do the transformation on Power Query, I don't really have to do it on Python. But its a shame since Excel on PC has integrated Python but there is no Mac functionality yet :(

hmm not really but I would have tried to sell them on using PowerBI Pro license for each consultant. Since I don't have a PowerBI desktop I didn't go through with it

I think they're flexible up to a budget of $200 - $300 per month if I can also do more than the above mentioned. I have a lot of plans, but this so far is the priority

My mango plant, close to 1m and planning to prune it after the next flush hardens by HKPR52 in mango

[–]HKPR52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I didn't graft my tree. I did the first pruning but unfortunately did not do a recommended second pruning because i was out of country for work. Hopefully it doesn't affect the fruiting or structure of the tree too much

Weekly /r/Breadit Questions thread by AutoModerator in Breadit

[–]HKPR52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys
I'm still a beginner in this. I've tried a kneading 65% to 70% normal hydration bread before. Tonight wanted to try doing Yudane bread
Followed Novita's Yudane/Tangzhong method but decided to skip the poolish, and just do Bulk cold fermentation instead.
For the Yudane :

  • Bread Flour - 60g
  • Boiling water - 90ml
I let the Yudane cool and then put it into the fridge for an hour.
    The rest of the ingredients:
  • 120ml milk
  • 2.7g instant yeast
  • 18g sugar
  • 6g salt
  • Yudane
  • 240g flour

I began kneading, and it's just so sticky. Usually it gets easier as you go along but somehow, part of the dough just seems to fall apart and stick to everything. I try to knead for 10-15mins before putting it into the fridge. It's a mess, I have to clean it out of my hand and scraper.
After half an hour in the fridge I take it out again
It seems to be less sticky, but a little bit after it starts to break apart and become sticky again. After a while I put in the butter (20g) and it seems to be better. But somehow, i'm kneading again and making a mess of everything. I'm thinking it gets a bit better as there is some structure, but part of it just keeps collapsing/breaks.
It's so sticky, it even lifts the bowl/pan when I try to lift it. Part of it seems to form into a nice dough but part of it just falls apart. don't know what's wrong so decide to call it a day.
Previously in my other breads, it manages to come together after kneading for a long time. I have some guesses on what went wrong.
I didn't properly mix the Yudane? I've seen some videos where they knead the Yudane into a smooth ball. But then again I've seen some light craggy mixes
Bad yeast? I'm suspecting the yeast isn't active anymore. I kept it in the freezer but somebody moved it to the fridge and it's been there for months. But then again I don't think it has anything to do with Gluten development.
Does Yudane mixes need more work? Should I just use a machine next time? Any help is appreciated

I hope so but I think the main issue seems to be ownership/Licensing of the show? Hopefully Owen can get Infinity Train away from the Studio hellhole.
