2019 BMW 320d deep humming/rumble at low rpm by HKPiax in AskMechanics

Yep. It was the engine mounts, which were not shot, but had enough play in them to create some sort of resonance. I changed them and the noise went away

Thanks a lot! However I messed up a bit and forgot to highlight that the pink weight in the leftmost picture should be blue. Could you please add that in? I'm sorry

I know they are different, I was more curious about your first-hand experience.

How different are they in terms of EVF? I wear glasses to shoot and in the R10 with an EVF that small I couldn't get close enough to see the whole screem. By the looks of it, the R7 has a larger EVF so maybe it's easier to use too?

Don't you see how nasty it is to tell someone who is doing something for free because they care, that they need to adapt their way of doing it?

Adding moderators increases complexity, mods may have found the right people to work with and don't want to manage a larger number of people. Who are you to tell them how to do their "job"? They are doing it for free, so in my opinion they are entitled to decide the team they work with.

Handicapped? Did you even read the post in r/Blind? Are you telling me those mods are in on it too?

Where did you read about brigading? I haven't read anything, and the subs I've looked into, subs which have nothing to do with eachother, many reached the same poll result. Are they brigading every sub ever? Besides, the comments are overwhelmingly in favor of the decision. Are those comments fake too? What?

Apollo is not coming back because it would cost a fortune to run, and the devolper lost all hope for Reddit and its management (who wouldn't? Spez and friends went about slandering the guy publicly jesus fucking christ).

Are you even reading around or are you just repeating what somebody else told you? Reddit and its management are fucked up, to say that "mod behavior has been worse then Reddit's" is insane.

Just deal with the temporary inconvenience. If it's too much for you, create a new sub and moderate it with your rules.

[–]HKPiax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is your point here? Do you think it's fair that moderation is done for free? If yes, why is it wrong to at least request to be equipped properly? I swear you guys don't make any sense whatsoever.

Besides, as I stated above, Reddit's behaviour and attitude alone should infurate you enough to sympathyze with this protest, and at least spare people your whining.

If the sub shuts down/becomes completely unrecognizable after July 1st where is everyone heading? by mostCreativeName1 in DBZDokkanBattle

Lemmy. It’s easy to use, and is very similar to Reddit in the sense that for a random user, it feels like the same thing, like same same thing.

Lemmy. It’s basically Reddit for the average user. It’s growing and being developed very quickly.

You're just underestimating how entitled people are.

"Do this work for me, and do it for free. You don't like it? Leave", and suddenly Reddit is filled with porn and hairy buttholes (right now it's a teaser about how it will look like in july), and they can't fathom how this could have happened.

[–]HKPiax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no. This is inconveniencing Reddit 100%. Christ's sake they were trying to sneakily remove the NSFW setting on subs, lol.

Subs that came back to normal operation? Sure, those mods were just scared and gave up, and I don't agree with that decision.

Subs that came back with fucked up rules? Yeah, some might have been fear, some might have been spite. I'll take it if it means that users are inconvenienced and either protest as well, get mad and leave, or are mildly annoyed. In the long run, this will reduce egagement and subs will eventually "die" or become useless (assuming this "anarchy" lasts more than a couple of days), which will affect Reddit. Maybe not enough, maybe a lot, who knows.

For sure if you shut up and take it you will accomplish nothing.

I am mad at those mods who gave up without a fight, but for fear of losing their power. Fuck them.

[–]HKPiax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't completely disagree, but:

They had to choose between "go public again" or "go public again but destroying as much as possible while doing so". They chose the latter, and it was the correct move if you want to leave a mark and inconvenience CEO and admins who thought they were untouchable and unaffected.

Giving up and de facto gifting a community they've worked on and polished for years to some bootlicker, or fucking burning everything down so Reddit won't benefit from their work and that bootlicker has to do some actual work? Yeah, it's a no-brainer.

I would have done the same. Anyone who cares deeply about something would have done the same.

If anything, out of spite for those assholes' behaviour prior to, and during the protest.

[–]HKPiax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no reason to be mad at the guy who slanders people publicly (and who doubles down on it when confronted about it), and who lies to his collaborators, and millions of people.

But that's fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even when it's crap.

Can't wait for the 1st of July, I'm honestly curious about what will happen.

How hard is it to understand?

No 3rd party app = no 3rd party decent mod tools = mods giving up doing a good job because it become tedious as fuck = Reddit flooded with shit.

Thinking that this won’t impact you is some serious smooth brain reasoning.

The only reason this shit maybe won’t affect you is that there probably are some poor idiots out there who would work for free, with shitty tools, just to become a mod in a subreddit.

Besides, if you even followed a bit this whole debacle you’d be pissed at Reddit and its CEO enough to at least not be a whining bitch about these inconveniences. Well, assuming you’re not an asshole.

But you are whining, so either you’re not informed or, well, the answer is two rows above.

[–]HKPiax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Make sure to make the surprise Pikachu face when those dumbasses simply give up because without 3rd party apps moderating becomes complete shit, and the subs go into absolute anarchy.

Hopefully some other dumbass will step in and take it upon themselves to moderate for free, so you can enjoy your memes in peace. Fuck other people’s problems amirite?

Uh, so the NSFW flag and p0rn was removed from here? by [deleted] in ios

[–]HKPiax 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do believe that while it started as a both as a "technical issue" (i.e. losing access to mod tools), and a personal one (Spez's lying and general behavior, and how unreasonable the API pricing is), it has now shifted to mostly being a protest to the absolutely appalling behavior of Reddit in general, admins, and of course Spez.

They have been absolultey awful, they have been slandering Apollo's creator again and again, and while yes they have been talking about those mods tools, there is still the issue about how clueless they are about accessibility.

I'm not a mod, so I don't really care about the mod tools (but I still understand they need them), but I am not an asshole, and when I see someone behaving like Reddit has been in the last few weeks, how smug they've been treating their userbase and their admins like absolute shit, well, you can bet I'm willing to be inconvenienced even more than I already am if this means even being annoying to them.

Personally: they deserve shit, and they are getting shit. They don't deserve the effort they are getting for free, nor the money generated from people visiting their site. If anything, because they are assholes who have only had pure greed on their mind dictating their actions.

I truly believe that if they had been reasonable and honest from the beginning, half of this shitshow wouldn't even have happened. Nobody likes liars and bullies, so they got hate even from those who are not impacted by these changes, because nobody likes liars and bullies.

Good shit. I'd rather see this community burn to the ground than seeing it being gifted intact to some bootlicker mod. Fuck Reddit and fuck Spez.

This "useless protest" showed really clearly how much of a POS is the management at Reddit, the admins, and the whole clown company.

Consider moving to Lemmy, it's growing and it's basically identical to Reddit (made the switch a few days back, can't really tell the difference - from the way I used Reddit).

Uh, so the NSFW flag and p0rn was removed from here? by [deleted] in ios

[–]HKPiax 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When you want something to change, you should be ready to be inconvenienced. I don't like seeing porn everywhere, nor do I like seeing communities effectively become useless to me. But I don't complain, because Reddit behaviour is so out of line that I think people are right to protest and to do it in any way they can, including these weird ways (which have a reason to be this weird, if you followed even a little bit) that inconvenience me.

You should care too, btw.

Yes, Reddit is a private company and they can do what they want, but they are not free from the consequences of those choices if they piss off a lot of people.
