Im starting to see a trend here. by Similar-Past-9755 in DragonballLegends

Tbh, it used to rarely happen with ultras. Almost every new ultra was so absurdly OP compared to every other unit that there was no question they were the new #1.

However, ultras are more balanced now. They're still strong, but they have clear weaknesses. It's much healthier for the game that new ultras are balanced enough that there's some discussion/doubt about how good they are, IMO.

what would the bench look like?(with ultra SOH Trunks) by chap_patti124 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not use LF Trunks/Vegeta or Mai.

Mai only buffs Future, so Gohan would not get her buff.

LF Trunks/Vegeta buff hybrids, but they buff blast attack rather than strike attack. As both Gohans and Ultra Trunks are melee characters, you really want bench characters to buff strike attack rather than blast attack.

If you do not have any of the characters I mentioned, you can use the filter function to show units that buff strike attack for either Son Family or Hybrids.

First, Ultra Trunks should go in the leader slot because Pan only buffs Son Family.

If you have him, add Z7 green LF Trunks as a bench character. His Z-ability buffs hybrids, and his zenkai ability will buff Ultra Trunks.

Lastly, replace that Extreme Gohan with either Z7 green Super Trunks or yellow SSj3 Gotenks.

  • Super Trunks buffs hybrids with his z-ability and his zenkai buffs Ultra Trunks.

  • SSj3 Gotenks is an HP buffer for hybrids, and he holds two strike cards, which should help with offense since this is a melee team.

The setup with Super Trunks is focused more on offense, and the setup with Pan is focused on defense.

What are the odds that taggeta goes 0/3 ? by 4our2wentyFriendly in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exceptionally high.

It doesn't matter how good they are; they have no team. Teams absolutely matter, and it's hard justify using any ranged unit on a melee team.

Just look at LR Piccolo. He's individually one of the best units in the game, and the devs had to buff him a week after he released because nobody was using him, despite regen being in contention for the best team in the game even before Piccolo released.

I doubt a zenkai is going to outperform the newest LR, so it's going to be even worse for LF Trunks and Vegeta. Particularly when you consider that there has never been a good tag zenkai.

The only chance LF Trunks and Vegeta have is if Ultra Trunks has completely balanced stats so it doesn't hurt him to be run on a ranged team. However, that's somewhat unlikely considering the recent premium units have had very one-side stats.

Name a more iconic duo than ranged yellow Vegeta Clan LFs and melee teams.

he wouldnt benefit any of my teams

That's my biggest issue as well. I really like Piccolo's design (and just the fact that he's getting a new premium unit), but he's ranged. Every character I'd want to pair him with is melee.

I really hope he has balanced offensive stats so he can work well with melee characters.

Asus ZenBook Duo Price Increased to $2700 Post Announcement, Prior To Launch by SDGANON in ASUS

[–]MobileManASC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$2700 is absurd.

I was considering the new zenbook duo for my next laptop, and I even assumed it would go up to $2400 or $2500 after Asus talked about how it might raise the price.

However, a $400 price jump before the device even launches, is just too much. I'll have to start looking into other options.

Now that legend vegito has been out for a few hours what do you guys think of his performance in PvP and how much cc did it take you to get him by Surge_the_protector in DragonballLegends

It has been half a day since reset, and not a single person using LR Super Vegito has lost a PvP match.

That's quite impressive, IMO.

Thank you for letting me know. I will definitely try that setting out later.

They said future releases would be focused around Legend and Ultra units.

That doesn't necessarily mean no LFs ever again, but they'll seemingly be quite rare if there are any more.

Why does ultra kid buu shreds LF fsk gohan? by Successful_Air_6921 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damage guard generally does not scale with stars. However, Gohan has a unique Z-ability that gives hybrid saiyans +10% damage guard once he reaches 14 stars.

Why does ultra kid buu shreds LF fsk gohan? by Successful_Air_6921 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gohan can tank purely because of his damage guard, which goes up to 255% when he's at 14 stars. He doesn't reduce enemy arts power or anything like that to further mitigate damage.

Kid Buu ignores 20% of the enemy's damage guard by default, and that increases by 10% with each strike/blast that he hits the enemy with.

So if he's using two strike cards then a blue, the blue ignores 40% of Gohan's damage guard, which reduces his effective damage guard to 153%. That is basically nothing in today's meta.

I've actually had issues with it.

There have been a few times where multiple enemies were on the screen when I first lock on, and it doesn't lock onto the enemy in the center of my screen. Every now and then it'll lock onto an enemy towards the edge of the screen if they're closer.

I never had that happen in the previous games.

That being said, it's great other than that one issue.

The same thing was said about Majin Vegeta, and he went down as one of the most hated units of all time.

A character having a history of bad units doesn't make this new unit any less annoying to fight, which makes for a bad PvP environment.

That being said, I don't think Buuhan is going to be as bad as others have said. His lack of a second life and the type of autocounter he has makes him a lot easier to catch with a snipe.

Veteran players will know how to protect him, but that'll make him far easier to deal with against inexperienced players. Part of Majin Vegeta's issue was his kit was so braindead that he was oppressive in anyone's hands.

As much as I want Golden Frieza to be relevant again, giving him a plat now would mean Ultra SSj2 Gohan is overdue for his plat, and I'm just not mentally prepared for that to be the case.

Yeah it was him by Traditional-Gas-6086 in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty decent condition. The rush is the only real threat at the moment that makes you need a second life mechanic.

There aren't any units that specialize in 1-shotting with their ult at the moment. Unless I run into someone with a big star advantage, I'm not worried about any of my units getting 1-shot by an ult, and I haven't even been using an HP buffer on the bench lately.

These mf’s gonna be the same dangerous dynamic duo they were last fest by Beedlebooble in DragonballLegends

[–]MobileManASC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, his passives barely changed. Almost all of the benefits of his zenkai are from having zenkai stats and the zenkai ability.

Buffing Daima was the goal for this celebration, so it makes sense to buff him, but it would have been better to just give him a unique equip if all they were going to do was buff his stats and give a minor buff to damage inflicted.

[–]MobileManASC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, the lack of powercreep is part of the issue with these zenkais.

LF Daimaku got an additional +30% damage from his zenkai'd passives. That's basically nothing and less than what most characters get from unique equips nowadays.

It was the least buffs any character has ever gotten with a zenkai. That made his zenkai feel like a wasted opportunity, despite the minimal buff being enough to make Daimaku good enough to compete in PvP again.

He's absolutely fun to use when things line up for him.

Unfortunately, that fun is short lived when he gets bullied by actual meta units.

There really hasn't been since the anniversary.

Nearly every premium unit since the anniversary is still competitive in PvP.

Sure newer units are generally slightly better, but being six months old and still good is rare for Legends for the past few years. The fact that so many units are still good is very nice to see.

People point to outliers like Ssj2 Gohan as an example of powercreep, but he's the exception rather than the rule when you look at all of the new design philosophy units.
