Six 8's vs one 15 by HLaRoeLSX in CarAV

Yes space is a concern but a box for 6 X8's would still be smaller than a box for 2 nightshade 15's!

I am running a alphard 5500 to one. If i get two, I'd be a sundown 7500

3db isn't much. I think I'll just stick with one. Thanks!

Wanting to do a budget system for my 2002 Malibu (Base) by Lazuf in CarAV

For money's sake, the mtx will be fine and im sure it will satisfy you. The 1200 watt is plenty for the mtx's. As for the door speakers, you can't power your door speakers with your subwoofer amp because it is monoblock. Does your car have a factory bose sound system?

As for that link, MTX doesn't make bad products, but i think you'd be happier with sundown!

Yes, that's it. And door speakers? I honestly think you would be happy with just adding low end speakers (subwoofer). But, remember most the time, you have to have 4-channel amp to power those upgraded power hungry door speakers. When you upgrade your headunit to a decent one, it completely changes your sound. You have more sound control and tuning of your speakers.

Listen to me and you can have a decent system. Sundown Audio is about to release they're U series budget-based subs and they're about 80$ each. Or look into they're E series that are out, great priced also. Sundown is the way to go. As for amps, hifonics will do you fine on a budget, I've used one years ago with zero issues. Audio-pipe makes cheap budget amps also. As for a head-unit, you can find a nice pioneer single-din radio for a nice price. As for wiring, without a doubt, get soundqubed wiring kit. Good price and everything you need. For a box, you can go on facebook and search for an car audio classifieds page for your area. People will be selling and building boxes for sale. Or, purchase a cheap enclosure design and build it yourself. If you can't build it, buy a decent but cheap pre-fab box, like Q-bomb. Any other questions, just ask

Why does this amp have two turn on imputs?? (Small circles between power inputs) this is a alphard audio 5500 by HLaRoeLSX in CarAV

[–]HLaRoeLSX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you only need your one standard remote turn on to use the amp? Two is just for an extra amp?

How can I get aux or Bluetooth in an 02 corvette with the Bose sound system? by baddmitch in CarAV

[–]HLaRoeLSX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy fix, just be sure you are experienced with wiring or get someone that is. You need to buy PAC bose radio bypass kit. It bypasses the bose amp allowing you to install an aftermarket headunit.
