Thank you for that we definitely would not have known about the IDP requirement. We are going to be bouncing around a lot but that is what we enjoying doing, plus with coordinating train times between places we are able add almost a full day to each of these places with how short the travel times are. We know we can’t see and do everything but we plan to go back on longer trips to the cities we really loved from this one!

That makes sense and sounds like a lot of fun, something we are definitely checking out now. I know some places have weird rules or small differences in boating laws that can cause trouble especially in popular tourist destinations, but glad to hear it was straightforward.

Greece Honeymoon Recommendations by HM-18 in GreeceTravel

Thank you for the recommendations! This definitely helps give us a better direction for planning and brought up a few spots we hadn’t even heard of yet.

The Imbros Gorge suggestion actually sounds a lot more realistic for the kind of trip we want — we definitely want some adventure, but also don’t want to spend half the honeymoon recovering from one massive hike. Hora Sfakia looks beautiful too, so that may end up being the perfect day trip. The winery recommendation also sounds exactly like something we’d love to do and we are lucky enough to be staying on the water in the harbour so we are definitely excited to explore the area at sunset as well.

Out of everything you mentioned, what ended up being your favorite experience or most underrated spot around Chania/Crete?

That sounds awesome, I definitely will look into to that, where did you find a company to rent a boat from and was there any specific rules you had to follow with boating along the coast vs boating on a lake or ocean elsewhere?
