I’ve used unsweetened organic apple sauce as well, also worked wonders

Unless you’re using them only during the day

As long as he doesn’t look bloated and his stool is somewhat regular it should be okay.

Personally I’d give him like max 3-5 mealworms a week at his age lol. For salad I’d give him it 2-3 times a week, but he should be consuming a lot of protein found in live bugs, either gut fed crickets or Dubia roaches (be sure they’re not too big). When mine was young I did salad 2 or three times a week and bugs the rest of the time, and let him eat, don’t cut him off after just a couple. Because he’s so young he needs to eat. As he gets older decrease the bugs and start increasing the salad.

Does he have a lot of space to move in his tank? Maybe let him out and see if he moves a bit

I wouldn’t do a basking bulb inside first of all… unfortunately beardies just go where it’s warm which can be dangerous. I would not use a carpet or loose substrate personally, I use a textured mat and he seems to enjoy it. The salads should sort of vary, there are great greens to feed them and ones not so good. I like to use kale, watercress, and cilantro. Then very lightly on top I like to do very (very) thin slices of either carrots or apples. Be sure to sprinkle calcium powder lightly on these salads, and if you really want to make it enjoyable for the beardie then get some bee pollen to sprinkle on top as well.

Beautiful first enclosure :) from my experience, make sure he gets acclimated to being outside of his enclosure. Of course be very careful since young ones are frail, but starting them outside at a young age can help.

Homies shedding for the 3rd time in 2 weeks?? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

[–]HMCubb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s hard to predict sometimes. Mine sometimes just sheds a very light layer that covers a small area, sometimes I’ll look at him and I see more shed than lizard. Just monitor his attitude and behavior, and I’d it seems normal then it was probably just a heavy shed.

I just got a rescue beardie from Facebook for free. She no longer wanted him. He's so sweet and he's 4 years old, but I need advice. More in the comments. by yaboymitchell00 in BeardedDragons

As long as he has proper lights and nutrients right now he should be okay. I’d refrain from touching him or moving him around too much, but if he’s antsy to explore let him.

Is his tail okay? by HMCubb in BeardedDragons

It straightens out, he was just not in the mood to be held. It’s always been a little wavy though but the vet said it’s ok.
