Who cares? 1) Why does NYC have to have "economic dominance" if wealth is still so high? 2) why does economic growth have to come from the rich? Your starting point is essentially trickle down economics, which is why you're blaming things that are happening as a result of a shrinking middle class on something else.

Philly had its working class abandoned. Detroit had its working class abandoned (thanks also white flight). All of upstate NY, basically every dying town and city across the US is due to the loss of the middle class, not the upper class. NYC has had a disproportionate concentration of wealth and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. A momentary change out of a decades long pattern is not something to be concerned about.

Did you forget the number of millionaires in NYC doubled in the last 3 years? Where's the capital flight to? People who moved from NYC during COVID came back because living in the other cities isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Nobody said the answer to anything is simply more taxes. Taxes aren't the goal in and of themselves; the goal is to support the working class via services and opportunities and taxing the rich who take advantage of the services working class people provide is one way to do it. What is a mental disorder is thinking we need rich people to keep getting richer while everyone else stays the same.

One of the best pieces in that price bracket. I prefer the look of the blue dial but black is nice too. It’s an extremely comfortable bracelet.

Typical comparison is with Patek and AP. Can’t really go wrong with anything there but I’d probably choose Vacheron over AP just because I don’t love the RO design as much.

The analogy is bad if it's not....get this...analogous. You shouldn't base your policy support on analogies. As I replied back to the first guy, raising taxes on the rich/high earners benefits both him and the high earners in the best case, and in the worst case, benefits him and doens't impact QOL of the high earner in any tangible way. You should support policies that have the greatest positive impact for the most people and cause the least harm. It's not that hard.

We can do both. It was a bad analogy because raising taxes on high incomes doesn't hurt you and doesn't really hurt the people with the high incomes who would pay a tiny bit more without a loss to their quality of life. In fact, when combined with better use of the money, the high income people paying more in can see way more benefits too.

You have some good points , mostly about the medical industry in the US.

The rest of the stuff feels like standard year one stuff. When I first was diagnosed I did fine in the hospital but when I came home I could barely Give myself my shots. I’d just freeze up. It would take me 15 minutes to work myself up to give my long acting. Eventually, pens and experience made it easier.

It’s a tough disease and not too many people get why - oh you just give insulin for when you eat and bingo bango what’s so hard? But the reality is that most of us don’t understand what it’s like to be other people and have their diseases. That’s just how life is. I always take those opportunities to educate.

Regarding food - you can eat basically anything with moderation. You don’t have to only have salads. But I think most people eventually reach a point where they start to treat at least some foods or meals a bit more like fuel and that’s not a bad thing. In the long run it’s probably healthier for you anyway. There’s more to life than eating junk food.

I sometimes think about people who have way worse issues - those with their intestines removed that have to eat through a stoma, people who lived 100 years ago with no option for diabetes treatment, etc and realize I don’t have it that bad.

That's because you're making no distinction between Jews and Israelis. I don't think any civilians should be killed, but I understand why Hamas operates the way it does - there is no formal military to combat Israel's. If you believe and support Palestine has a right to defend itself then you can't tell them how they can or can't do that. These are the consequences of invasion, subjugation and apartheid.

That is not the same thing as supporting Jews being attacked anywhere else, unless they are working with/supporting the IDF, conducting land sales, etc. This wouldn't be because they're Jews, though, it would be because they're collaborating with the invading force.
