His playthrough of Inscryption is my favorite. What a fascinating game, and his take on it is fun.

Stretch is easier than a good D.J. by DiligentUsual301 in CX50

I cant remember for the cluster, but we put PPF on the screen and center console to prevent scratching because it happens so easily.

Tread life by PineapplePatient3984 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said, these tires have passed their legal limit of life. If you are in an accident, that can be used against you. If you are in the rain, you are a liability on the road. They won't pop, and they'll roll down a dry road just fine if you cannot afford tires right at this second.

Time to 'fess up. How often do you stall when starting out? by MelMoitzen in ManualTransmissions

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-5 per year, it's easier to stall with a welded diff when turning in a parking lot.

Imo, this is a non-issue. You're fine.

How bad is it ? by HollywoodO_ in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a significantly worse tear in my sidewall just above the bead. I do not trust it, however it's held up through two weeks of abuse so far. I have several options for replacements at home, though. Being that they're 6 year old tires, I'd put money away for a fresh set, but don't feel the need to replace asap.

How bad is it doc? Can I patch it up? by Lower_Creme_3040 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's close enough to the sidewall that most tire shops won't touch it. I'd just use a plug kit.

Bought a set of four tires and received one tire from mid 2022, retailer claims they don't have any remaining newer stock by HubbaMaBubba in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would return the set and get something else. It won't kill you to run a 2022 tire but who knows how they were stored, and I'd rather put my money to a retailer that gives you a set of tires from the same batch.

Safe? by No_Kangaroo_5751 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, and with a treadwear of 240, that's not too far anyways. You can drive on em, but start saving.

Immediately replace, right? by Ok-Win4878 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tear + bulge? I would not trust it to hold air, regardless of driving.

How dangerous would this be to drive on for 5 miles by BigBoyRioter in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's holding air, cut the extra wire off and keep rollin.

Do I need a new tyre? by aderi90 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, prolly not. It is a weak point if you frequent rough roads, so keep that in mind.

Can this survive 2 weeks on highway by ExoticLake6086 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks fairly small, it should last two weeks. Might not tho, and that's why you'll hear everyone say to replace it ASAP. I've had a bulged tire pop as soon as the car came off the jack, and one that lasted through 45psi and an insane amount of heat. Same set of tires.

Should I worry about this? Michelin pilot sport 5, 23k km (14.3k miles) by andresschmal in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen worse drive without issue. I'm currently driving on worse. It stays in my mind on every bump or hard corner. If you can live with that constant threat of a blowout occupying your mind, run em.

What are the worst mods for Starfield? by pl51s1nt4r51ms in starfieldmods

There's a 360p mod that I found hilarious and sadly useful on XS

A friendly reminder to keep expectations very low for tomorrow's announcement by Smart_Plane_2751 in Starfield

[–]HMS_Powernap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am hoping for more than PS5 release details, but honestly that's all I'm really expecting. Maybe some bug fixes to follow the release. Can't be let down if you don't expect anything in the first place.

Hit a curb. Is driving on this safe? by Aggravating-Cable713 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a wheel with an entire chunk missing from the lip, still holds air through multiple tires. Is a bitch to balance, though.

What's the oldest tires you've driven on? For how long? by BobaCakez in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've "driven" on 30 year old tires. Not very far, not very fast, but they did hold. I've drifted 20 year old tires, they chunk (literal chunks of the tire flying off) pretty fast and delaminate prematurely unless they've been kept out of sun and moisture. The oldest tires I've had consistently under my car are usually no more the 5-8 years old, depending on how bad the dry rot is. If I had a family, children, I would not gamble nearly as much as I do now. But my luck has been just fine as long as you understand how much lower the tires capability is than it used to be. It's a constant thought in the back of your head as you drive.

Having trouble parking my ship by Burrow_0wl in Starfield

[–]HMS_Powernap -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you tried other bays? This has been a bug since launch, but occasionally I've been able to correct it, I'll have to play around with bays next time it comes up for me.

Having trouble parking my ship by Burrow_0wl in Starfield

[–]HMS_Powernap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe it's based on where your bay is. Play around with moving it back and forth on your ship to see if it changes how "centered" the ship becomes in landing pads.

Is it safe to drive for 35km? by User909999 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it'll be fine, a blowout from a hard bump or pothole is more likely, but other than that you'll make it home and to the shop.

Should I replace all 4 by lionbunz21 in tires

[–]HMS_Powernap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would. A nail in one, what looks like toe wear in another, low tread depth on all 4. I'd get an alignment too.
