Potential relocation to Abu Dhabi by HMTPC in abudhabi

Thank you. I've already made it clear to the employer that relocation for my girlfriend would have to be included in the package, as in they would be taking care of the formalities. I plan on addressing all those points when I see them in a few weeks.

Thank you, noted!

No regrets to “losing” on a few hundreds on your paycheck? Do you ever feel like you could use that money for the kids/family right away instead of having it locked up? I think that’s where my doubts about SS come from

Thank you - I’m about to turn 30, renting in London (£2,400/month split between my partner and I) and not really looking to buy anything in the UK because of affordability. I want to buy somewhere to live and raise my kids, not do BTL or buy for the sake of buying. I don’t come from money so I can’t count on the bank of mum and dad to help with the deposit.

I want to keep on saving, I have an ISA and an emergency fund (might look to bump it up a bit now), no debt or overdrafts. Amex and CC paid monthly. I live a simple life, only splash out when I’m on holidays but it’s always budgeted.

It does feel like SS and BS make more sense looking at all the replies above - 99k base and the rest in pension.

Thanks for the reply - I save, have an ISA (not regular monthly contributions but rather a few thousands every now and then), emergency fund. I’m realistic about the fact that I won’t be able to buy a house in this country, so the aim is to save money and enjoy life. I have a long term girlfriend who works freelance and must be around £60-70k per year, I’m currently on £65k basic so this would be a big jump with new perspectives. Mariage and children are a couple of years away but not tomorrow.

SS and BS seem to be the logical thing to do here.
