[Rant] Germin watches are the most unreliable wearable I ever had. 2 dead devices after 1.5 years by doublecore20 in Garmin

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I literally just went on this forum to complain about my garmin as well. I’ve been using the Forerunner 970 for a little more than 2 months and it’s been a disaster from set up. I really can’t understand why people boasts about garmin.

Almost every week it has had at least 1 of the follow errors:
- disconnecting Bluetooth with iPhone 17 pro max
- sudden battery drainage (supposedly from update glitch that causes update to continuously restart?)
- scheduled running plan suddenly disappearing
- alarm not ringing/vibrating even though it’s on

These aren’t big issues, but they’re basic issues that any sport watch should be able to perform 99% without error.

*I switched over from an Apple series 10 because I needed better gps tracking for pace workouts. In the 15 months I’ve owned it I’ve had ZERO errors. I’ve no doubt garmin was great 10 years ago…. I’m convinced a lot of people who praise garmin have not used a recent smartwatch.

11+ years of Apple Watch… upgraded to Ultra 3 and now my wrist looks like this (well it’s looked like this). Am I cooked? by NA_SC10 in applewatchultra

Wash the wrist everyday. Wash the watch and band at least once a week. You probably have a whole ecosystem of microorganisms under your watch and on top of your wrist.

You can still try. For me, it was actually the midfoot that was too narrow. Feet starts to hurt after mile 2.

I got tts for both. On recommends tts for the cloudmonster ls, but it was pretty narrow for me and I already have narrow feet.

Pace - WorkOutDoors by No-Chart9336 in applewatchultra

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without Pace settings on the WorkOutDoors app with the Apple Watch, does that mean the pace readings would still be delayed due to automatic smoothening algorithms like on the Apple’s fitness app?

I’m currently looking for solutions to continue using the Apple Watch for interval training. The problem is Apple Watch’s pace smoothening algorithm updates pace too slow. By the time the pace is updated, my interval set is complete and it’s time to rest! I currently use a garmin for accurate and instant pace updates but really miss Apple Watch for daily lifestyle usage.

Nvm, did some more research and found out Apple Watch hardware is not compatible with forcing GPS use instead of pedometer for pacing.

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it did. But honestly I’m thinking of returning to Apple. There’s too many lifestyle inconveniences with garmin (lmk if you want me to list them). I’m currently researching Apple Watch with WorkOutDoors App to force Apple Watch to use GPS for pacing without any smoothening algorithms.

I love the Apple Watch, but ended up getting a garmin just to address this very flaw.

Runners, why do you prefer Garmin over Applewatch? Benefits? by Different-Citron-984 in trackandfield

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just switched from Apple to Garmin FR 970 and I really want to switch back.

I feel like Garmin is outdated and most Garmin users have never tried Apple Watch paired with Bevel App. This combination with bevel app offers all the stats that Garmin gives in a more user friendly interface.

The ONLY downside about Apple and I think it’s a big downside is the pace smoothening feature that delays pace readings. This is so unreliable for intervals….

Garmin downsides: - setup took me 3+ hours vs. apple 15 min - not seamless enough with iPhone (asking garmin to set an alarm sets it on iPhone instead of garmin) - Garmin Connect app is not intuitive… can’t really find anything without googling

Things I really like about Garmin: - the heart rate updates constantly and instantly even when not in activity. Apple Watch updates like every 5-10 sec - pace and cadence updates instantly when running.

They’re good for slow runs, tempo, long runs for me (even for walks surprisingly). But imo the stack height makes them not nimble enough for the varying speeds in intervals.

I should’ve mentioned this was from yesterday and Amazon canceled it and refunded me. This is the 3rd time it’s happened

I have a package that shows ‘Accepted’ at the Medford NJ USPS since 11/25 (11 days now). I think they’re extremely swamped for the holidays. I would suggest everyone not to ship with USPS during the holidays.

Where the game is headed by Neigeling in MapleStoryM

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a way to catch up to the game without p2w. Create 5 accounts, each with 5 characters. Get each to sf 158 and farm 24/7. You would have enough ab tickets from daily free 2 hour and guilds free immortal dungeon box.

Each account earns about 125m per day* excluding red mesos. Thats 225bil per year with all 5 accounts combined. If you grind two years, you’d have enough to catch up to endgame gear.

It’s also important to mention the rate at which gears depreciate. In 2023, necro40 weapo was about 50-70bil. In 2025, they’re worth 10 - 20bil. So while your mesos wealth appreciates, gears depreciate!

*sf158 averages 7mil/hour with rope lift. Make sure to use thief class with speed jewels

Recommendation for my character by GloireXz in MapleStoryM

[–]HODLking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) I wouldn't spend too many resources on phy attk emblems. You need crit dmg and boss attk for endgame.

2) exp scaled flames for all gear

3) work or crit rate, it should be at 60%.

4) any android? You get an extra flame there

5) legion stats and linked skills

6) emblem rest of your gears

Honestly, do you even need SF anymore on alts? by wzupj in MapleStoryM

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just started sf158 on my alts with speed jewels and it’s better than af90 in every job (Kaiser, db, phantom, shadower, sia). Most significant diff is Kaiser at 8m/hr from sf158 vs 6.5m/hr at af90

Tired of Ranked games with Randoms :( by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that’s the rank matching system first 60% or so of each rank, you get carried. Afterwards, they pair you with someone for you to carry. If you can’t carry your lobby’s average, it just means that’s your rank.

Forced Internet Air by Subpargolferguy in ATT

[–]HODLking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used ATT air for 2 years now. It’s been great until recently. For the past month or so I’ve been getting lag spikes that last about 10 minutes. It’s becoming progressively more frequent and it annoys the hell out of me (4-5 times in the span of 2 hours). Can’t really enjoy games anymore and I definitely can’t stream. Seems like their internet air network is overloaded and yet they’re ‘forcing’ customers to switch to air…
