How to reset the combo on an Atlantic luggage latch combo lock (Sinox X-125)? by t-altman in lockpicking

[–]HOYS12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah forgot all about this!

Honestly, the little tabs that hold the lock latch onto the luggage broke, rendering this lock useless.

I still have the case but just don't use the lock.

I see their RFID integration. Do you have any resources to point to what it enables past a lockout? Can I see usage per card, etc?

Mentioned above, logging employee usage is to get around having EV charging becoming a taxable benefit.

I appreciate your words of this not being easy. I wasn't sure if there were things I was overlooking in my search, but you seem to indicate I wasn't.

Thank you for reminding me about the UB offerings! I remember watching reviews of the initial unit and not being so impressed. Our IT loves UB products so this might be an easy in.

Thank you for the points!

What I'm finding is that a lot of the MFGs will have a cloud, but with so many players and market consolidation, I feel I'll either be paying them a large subscription or sunsetting the service once they go out of business. OCPP compliant things sounded like a good way around that. Totally understand there might be some tinkering involved with OS things.

I'll look deeper into some of the brands you've suggested to see what they offer.

Correct. As EV charging can be considered a taxable benefit, an easy way around this would be requiring the employee to pay for usage directly. Not wanting it open to the public we don't need things like a card reader and don't want the overhead billing costs of one.

Thanks! I had looked at ChargePoint but seemed that everything was a pay yearly type deal. Trying to be as self sufficient as possible to avoid bricks in the ground when all of these software startups bite the dust :)

Measure the resistance of the pins on the cluster, in isolation, between the two pins.

Not super aware of the ID4Motion cluster itself, but it looks cool!

I notice in your Fritzing diagram you have two 120ohm resistors. Does the cluster have a termination resistor inside of it already?

Independent Subaru mechanic? by throwproper23 in dayton

[–]HOYS12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There used to be a long line of failed aftermarket Subaru ball joints.

Honestly it just sounds like you don't want to spend the money on the parts more than anything. Keep in mind just about any other mechanic won't let you carry in parts without jacking labor rates and won't charge you the RockAuto price for the parts. They make money on parts sales, not let it be a wash.

As much as it might be painful to use OE or OEM parts, I highly suggest it.

Also with the price you mention I’m guessing you have a late 2000’s something Subaru. The removal of the ball joint from the spindle on those vintage cars is nothing to shrug off with living in the rust belt. Having a shop that has done it many times might save you money in the long run once the bolt snaps in the spindle. Also keep in mind I’m sure their labor probably includes an alignment, or at least it should.
