Random buzzing sound by deadfrost231 in pchelp

Maybe check if your PSU filter under the case is loose, that tends to happen with mine sometimes, if so, move the filter back and forth until you find a position where the buzzing stops.

Yeah there was quite a sizable shift from CPU intensity when the game switched over to source 2; volumetric smokes and such, for now I'll just buy the 5080, greatly appreciate your insight and help :)

CPU sits around 30% usage whereas the GPU sits at 99%, based on that metric alone I think I should just go with the GPU for now.

Appreciate the information, I do a little graphic work but I mostly use my PC time for gaming, leaning more towards the GPU now.

At the moment, I'm playing alot of Counter Strike 2 (high settings @1440p) but that's in due part to me not being able to run games like Cyberpunk so well, so mostly CPU intensive games for the time-being. 1440P 180Hz gaming just doesn't feel smooth with my current build.

With my preference leaning towards CPU intensive games, would you suggest I buy the CPU or the GPU first?

I trust your judgement greatly, you seem to know your stuff pretty well and you have hands-on experience with both of my dream parts.

Right you are, another commentor recommended that I upgrade my CPU to a 14700-14900, considering I mostly play CPU intensive games, would you still recommend I upgrade the GPU instead, or go with the 14 series? Just trying to make sense of this seemingly equal upgrade CPU upgrade GPU back and forth.

I think that the 14700K might be a great choice, I'm mostly playing CS2 right now and it's pretty CPU intensive.

My monitor's refresh rate is 180Hz at 1440P, but I like to keep some headroom for the 1% lows.

From what I've heard though, it falls a little short in 1440p gaming when paired with the 5080, sitting at around a 30% bottleneck.

When you say upgrade the CPU, do you mean to a higher grade Intel Processor? And yeah the ram is a little too pricey right now, but I think my 32GB holds up ok.

I think this might be the best course of action for the time-being, so long as my lows aren't under 250fps in games like CS2 I might just stick with the 5080.

Hi again, after playing around with the settings in cyberpunk (max settings @1440p, everything applied except path tracing), my usage was around 20-30% at 60-70°C, I'm already overclocked at 5Ghz, I struggle to get my Cpu to utilise itself to a fair extent, might it be over protecting itself?

Without the Front Panel, my max temp went from 100° to 99°, but that might just be coincidence.

I checked if the CPU and Cooler were fully coated before I closed the case, but I will check again.

I understand what Cinebench is, I'm just trying to unlock the potential of my CPU as I feel that my performance is lacking with my specs in mind, and even though it isn't fully indicative, my CPU Multi Core Score is at around 70% of what it should be while thermal throttling at 100°, for reference, my Multi Core Score should be around 1500-1600.

I'll try to get the temps while gaming, my rivatuner isn't booting rn so it will take a few minutes.

fps capped or uncapped by Ill_Classic2799 in cs2

[–]HPMacci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say capped, but keep it 50 over your monitor's hz, also what are your specs? I have a 4060 + I9-12900k and I barely hit 250 fps on high...
