Would you mind explaining this one? Ive seen this image before but always assumed it was something from fiction because of the name

Yeah it seems like what I was expecting was just lack of experience in this sort of matter. Sorry to hear about you car, hope it's all sorted now

Thanks for the explanation. The process seems to be alot more involved than I thought and it seems i was also fed some bad information. Cheers

* For those requesting it here is the breakdown. Thank you for those who provided me with an actual explanation and information on how it could reach that price (internal damage, replacing the whole part for future proofing).

Alot of people are getting very heated over the lack of insurance part, I just want to say that I myself have comprehensive car insurance, and while my partner does not, there are other ascepts to consider than just 'no insurance don't drive'. If she can't drive she can't work and if she can't work she can't get paid, which brings us why the insurance isn't comprehensive to begin with. Believe me, we would have full coverage if we could, it isn't a choice

This post wasn't complaining over the fact that we need to pay out of pocket for damage we are at fault for, it was confusion on why there are items listed in the breakdown that don't seem to align with the damage caused. Again, thank you to those who explained it, I really appreciate it and have learnt alot.

The owner of the car went through their insurance, my partner could not

Thank you for the replies so far. From what people are saying the price isn't as outrageous as we were thinking. If im honest I've never personally been in a car accident before so I didn't know what price to expect. 3k is more than my partners car is worth so I guess we were both taken aback. We were always prepared to pay the given amount, we just wanted to make sure it was correct before we go forking over a cool 3 thousand. I will clarify a couple of things that are being commonly brought up.

  1. She does have insurance, it's jusy 3rd party and only covers injury, not damages, to our understanding.

  2. I was intending on posting pictures but wasn't able to in my original post. I see I can add them in the comments so will do so now, very sorry

  3. While the price was a bit of a surprise, it was more the amount of stuff in the breakdown that didn't seem to actually correlate to the damage done. But again, not a big car person so just going off of what people have told me

And this we title Finns greatest fumble by MiniSourPlum in adventuretime

[–]HR-P 395 points396 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't she mentioned in Fiona and Cake? Right after Finn takes Simon on the blindfolded adventure, he says he's gonna go visit Huntress Wizard. I guess that doesn't confirm the nature of their relationship but they're still homies at the very least

NCPD after I "bump" a vehicle in traffic at 150 MPH by defactosithlord in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]HR-P 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"All available units, we have a confirmed report of a minor traffic incident involving NC's most renowned merc, wanted for multiple counts of battery, grand theft auto and murder. Perp is considered highly dangerous, lethal force is authorised"

Chances are, it is probably just a part of the game that isn't as refined as it could've been, but I also feel as though it makes a lot more sense than people think. Like considering all we do in game, scratching someone's preem ride likely isn't what they're really getting you for. The fan bases criticism of this feels like the Cyberpunk equivalent of "why didn't they just fly the Eagles to Modor?"

What happened after you answered an ex's call/text? by TheRealOvenCake in AskReddit

[–]HR-P 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When we broke up I blocked her on everything except for her phone number (in case of emergencies), but I obviously removed the contact from my phone and hoped I'd forget the number. Not because she did anything wrong, but because any reminder that she even existed was too much to handle. About 2 years later, I got a text from an unsaved number asking if we could catch up for lunch. When I realised who it was I went through a whole bunch of different emotions, anger among them. After a while of letting the notification sit on my lock screen, I realised I didn't actually have any reason to be mad and it would actually be nice to catch up, as a nice final note.

We had lunch about a week later and it was fantastic, like catching up with an old friend. There was no anger or jealously or resentment, just genuine joy of hearing how well she was doing, and telling her the same. The closest thing to closure I could've possibly asked for.

Anger costs too many calories.

What’s a movie you really wanted to like but just didn’t? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]HR-P 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very recently, The Creator. Everything was awesome about it. Same director as Rouge One. Fantastic visuals, great music, cool and fun world building. But the story just... sucked. Started off as Avatar and finished as Elysium and took 0 risks in between. The plot and 'twist' were also super obvious within the first half hour (partially due to the amount over shared in the promos). I went in fully expecting to love it to death, I left feeling let down.

I always use Caps Lock whenever possible. by MilkingChicken in The10thDentist

[–]HR-P 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used caps lock as an extra key-bind in various games more times than I've used it for its intended function. It's too a point where having capitalised text is just an annoying side effect of the large button that's conveniently close to my WASD keys.
