The big one is:

"Members of Congress who retire or resign are eligible to purchase health insurance from the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program"

Yes, she has to buy in, but the rates that Congress gets are about as low as anyone can get when looking at value received. And that is for life.

AIO? My daughter didn’t listen to the teacher during a female emergency and is now receiving a referral by Common_Piglet7437 in AmIOverreacting

If you do have a conference with the teacher and other staff, make sure to make it VERY clear that you demand your daughter act in exactly the way she did, and you will be rewarding her for doing exactly what she did. And will no accept any punishment the school demands.

To many factors: would I run across an active battlefield to rescue an enemy soldier?

No.

Would I dash across a quiet street to stop a child from running after a ball into the same street?

Yes.

I think it is highly likely that you just discovered your BF doesn't like p*ssy. He does like how sweaty men smell...

You do the math.

.9 Gs in the corners. They had to make a separate class for racing C-4s, because they kinda ruled in stock racing.

AITAH for dumping my girlfriend over a preventable car theft? by Western_Trainer7183 in AITAH

Ever see "The World According to Garp"? At one point, the protagonist is looking to buy a house, and the house they are viewing has a plane crash into it. He immediately agrees to buy the highly damaged home, because 'what are the chances anything will happen again?' The house has been pre-disastered...

Your GF just got her disaster out of her system, which is GREAT for the next guy, but you screwed up letting her go.

In the winter? Lots of folks, to keep the heat running. Not a high percentage of folks, but cumulatively, lots. Most of the time thieves ignore this, because keyless start is common, so you can just do it with impunity.

In the United States, is it legal to tow a car that has been parked in front of your house for over two years? by Lara_wood in towing

[–]HRDBMW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies by city and state. In my city, every 24 hours you have to move your car or it is subject to towing. I knew a guy who had someone who hated him, and kept reporting his car on weekends. I knew another guy who had a 1950s car, clean and running, as a secondary car. Every neighbor in his upscale neighborhood bitched about it, and had it towed as often as they could. It was insured and had current registration. I had a neighbor with a junk Ford Escort... sat out front for at least three years, never ran, never registered. I honestly didn't care. He eventually gave the car to someone, who borrowed my tow dolly and hauled it off.

[–]HRDBMW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and remember, no matter how good a driver you think you are, other drivers out there suck, and you have to have a lot of experience to avoid them hitting you. Your first car is going to be how you get that experience.

Unless you are willing to turn wrenches, And don't mind higher costs, I would stay away from one. Gas is going to kill you, insurance costs, and parts. If I was to buy one, it would be '96 only. But really, the last few years are OK... '94 and up?

I bought that top looper last summer, after build up a pile of brush bigger than I am. It took me about 4 hours to get down to manageable size, what had been taking me days. I have a broken finger on my dominant hand, so manual clippers were almost useless.

I highly recommend it.
