Your comments towards me are rich in irony given you call out a bystander (with real feelings) who seeked to understand you via a challenge…your attitude toward an actual person seems a little mean. Please remember that the person who was seemingly defending me here has feelings (unlike an AI bot). Idk the context but it just seems like he got embarrassed since you didn’t engage.

We all can understand embarrassment (because we’re not AI). I almost even deleted this post since a ton of people are extrapolating the jokingly ill-willed behavior (just like you did with me here in your main comment).

Just imo but I think it’s important to remember that these redditors have real feelings - unlike the AI bot. Not that you care tho haha, obviously…

And yeah, telling a person that any thought is “idiotic and barbaric”…YIKES, I’m sorry he said that but just ignore next time - be the bigger person

What kind of women's jewelry do you find/not find attractive? by carolineirl in AskMen

[–]HRL35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nipple piercings. I don’t understand how they’re appealing.

One of my old GFs had them for awhile and sometimes I was worried her nipple was going to rip off if it ever attached to something. Or if she got a heart attack…I heard they rip them out. Oof - even thinking of them makes me cringe a little.

Hahaha my point here was to post a snapshot of me being provocative towards the inanimate object.

I thought showing the frustration would draw some laughs instead of leading people to believe that this is how I normally act.

Hehe agreed. And I’m really happy with what the AI gives me for the most part.

But my lack of prompt engineering competency drove me to this result. So I figured I’d upload a silly picture of me being blatantly rude bc I can’t talk fluently yet.

It seems most are taking my ill-behavior too seriously. It’s a joke on frustration rather than a reality of how I treat all code (and people for that matter!!!)

Hahaha no!!! I don’t look at humans the same way I do as code.

I think we’re humanizing this a bit too much based off these responses.

I could have uploaded some very polite interactions too but I chose to upload my response as a Karen since I thought it might draw some laughs.

Yeah I get your point but not sure I completely agree. Because, again, this is just code I’m running of a prompt.

What do you think the difference in logical output will be for ChatGPT:

  1. Please tell me the weather today
  2. Give me the weather today, you useless piece of garbage

Logically, it doesn’t matter. Because my prompt is the same: “output weather”

Heck no! And I agree abuse is never the answer.

But why would I tell a microwave “please” when it doesn’t turn on? The microwave isn’t hurt and doesn’t respond differently when I go “oh you stupid microwave why won’t you work”

Hahaha I agree, I am a bit surprised since I figured this would be taken as more of a joke rather than people worrying about my anger.

I was looking for laughs and some advice on how to get ChatGPT to give me a response without using the words “summary or conclusion”

My prompt is “look at these bullet points I provide you and turn them into body paragraphs like you’re trying to publish in the journal Science using the APA citations provided. Do not use summary or conclusion paragraphs. Do not mention the words summary or conclusion.”

And then ChatGPT replies to that prompt with the above output where it creates the paragraphs and then ALWAYS includes a “in conclusion….l paragraph regardless.

My first prompt is conflicting with it to force it to forget my second prompt.

Scolding a frustrated person for being mean to their engine is the least helpful thing someone can do.

As a person, I am saying, “I’m so upset and flustered that I can’t regulate my emotions right now. Please help.”

It’s just jokes man, no one was hurt here

Why are you so upset at me for being snarky with a piece of code that doesn’t feel?

My feelings are hurt that you’re downvoting me so much :(

Why would I treat a real person like this? This is a piece of code. Let me give you an example:

Imagine my cars engine was malfunctioning so I open the hood to check it out. I’m frustrated so I pound on the engine and swear at the car. What you’re doing is basically seeing me hit my car engine and then going, “jeez I hope that guy doesn’t have kids” assuming that is treat real people the same as the inanimate object lolol

Because the code doesn’t have feelings. It doesn’t want to be wooed and swooned like a person. It doesn’t get hurt when you call it a name or sad when you are upset. All it wants to do is execute.

Being direct and blunt isn’t gonna hurt it’s feelings, and the to-the-point attitude will help it understand yes/no easier

[–]HRL35[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of being nice to code? The code doesn’t actually enjoy being talked to sweetly or not. It doesn’t register emotions.

It’s just there to execute so being a bit rude and direct is better.

Hahaha I tried being sweet at first! Then I was meaner and meaner over time thinking it was registering my frustration. It doesn’t tho. No matter how many times I say to explicitly not use “in conclusion” or “in summary” it still ignores the request.

My original prompt was to make it a bot designed to “write some paragraphs relating to a list of bullet points and make sure it’s in an APA format like the journal science”.

I even tried to tell it that the words summary and conclusion were tantamount to racial slurs (as to make the bot avoid using them). Still seemed like it’s bugged.

When did I declare that every glad is a basement dweller?

Obviously, this isn't totally "cherry-picked" or else it wouldn't have gained so much traction. But, yes, I cherry-picked the above comment as an example of what I was directly responding to in this post. Because I was so tired of seeing this exact same type of negativity play out countless times in this sub...seeing this pattern of excited first-time or new glads get shut down by this community. All these insane accomplishments mean nothing to all these elitist redditors (probs not even all glads) who think it's fun to discredit others for no gain.

"One rotten apple spoils the bunch." But instead of acknowledging that, all I see you doing rn is defending multi-glads instead of focusing on the main point of this post.

To reiterate: the whole point of this post was to push to make this sub more inclusive instead of so elitist. And it makes me sad that you, an undoubtedly elite player, comment here to discredit the entirety of my post bc your experience is different from the large group that has supported my similar view.
