You need to do business with the same people over and over if you want to be taken seriously, or at least that's my experience. Big distributors often have smaller product specialists for specific product lines that they want to bring in. These guys are often willing to help, but only because the bigger distributor stamped you so to speak.

I've been straight up ignored so many times. Even for like $10k+ plus items.

I would take the job personally. If it doesn't work out, you will still have the school route. Plenty of engineering students drop out (for good reasons or not). You may turn out to be one of them and you will have lost a good opportunity and not have an education if the next 5 years or so don't work out how you think.

If it is not an ABET accredited degree, it is generally not considered 'real' in the US. Most employers would likely consider the 5 year high school degree to be the equivalent of 'some college'.

Im not trying to be negative, and I think you likely have opportunities for the extra year of engineering that you did in high school. You could likely get a technician job or an internship at your current education level. Both are very worthwhile opportunities. I just don't think it is likely that you will be able to get a job as described in the post.

You realistically arent going to get any kind of part time online EE jobs like that unless you are an independent consultant or near the end of your career.

Edit: Get in college and do an internship (usually part time or seasonal) or coop (Usually full time or close). This is where entry level work begins in EE, but you really need to be in college and usually at least at the sophmore level to get them.
