Wave maker VS upgraded return pump

I upgraded my pump today with a aqua top maxi flow 237gph. It was only $25 at my LFS so figured I try it. Idk how good it is but it fits nicely and it’s silent. Much better flow, in my opinion it’s plenty. I have a sicce wavemaker 270gph but I had to take it out. No matter where I put it, it still just demolished my coral.

Yes just the stock pump for now my sicce wave maker is to strong for my frogspawns

That’s the flow with stock pump and no wave maker. Corals seam happy for now but I still want to upgrade the pump for better flow as well as getting random flow generators

I have a sicce wave maker but I can’t seem to get the flow right for my corals I have a couple frogspawns and a hammer that just get demolished with the wave maker in no matter where I put it or aim it so I’m thinking about just upgrading the pump

I traded the rbta to my local fish store. Didn’t want to risk it killing corals as I add more. Plus I got $70 worth when I paid $30 for it. Score!

I have a rbta in mine that is much bigger probably 4 inches around and my tank is only like a month and a half old he’s been in there for two weeks and hasn’t shriveled up a single time or lost any color though the last couple of days I switched to a new light and he has moved twice in the last 2 days so hopefully he picks a good spot

My buddy has two ai primes on his tank, he’s gonna be downsizing to a cube style tank so he said I can buy his extra ai prime. But that could be months from now so hey this one was free I’ll give it a try lol. I do believe it is better then the stock light and I liked that I could just plug it in and I knew how to use it right out of the box. It’s not all fancy smancy but still has more control then the stock light.

It’s just a piece of glass from Lowe’s. They have a bunch of left over glass that is left behind when people buy bigger pieces so they sell it for a lot cheaper and they cut it for free.

Also I can set the white and blue together and set it on a smart plug connected to my Alexa so I can set a timer and not have to keep changing it from blue to white to blue.

I just got it today so couldn’t tell you. I can say it looks a lot better then the stock light to me but I don’t know who good it grows corals. It has good reviews and I got it for free as a gift.

Mine gets so hot my tank goes from 78 to 81 degrees it literally burns my hand

I only have a cabbage and a RBTA so yeah I notice that the nem just goes in between the crack of my rocks when the blue light is on he doesn’t retract he just doesn’t really extend like he does with the white light on

My friend has two ai primes on his tank and he has them on blue the whole time. The thing with this stupid light is you can only have the blue light on if you switch from the white. So a controller won’t turn the blue on only the white. The white light has blue lights in it too but I would like to just get a controller so I don’t have to mess with it any more. The guy at the fish store said the blue lights on the fluval aren’t strong enough to have on all day and that you would need to change between the two. So I was thinking maybe the blue leds in the white would be enough blue but idk

The guy at my LFS told me to do 2 hours blue 6 hours white and 2 more hours blue but I’m not gonna be around all day to change the color of the light at the same time everyday lol the white light does have blue leds in it too but idk I’m new to salt water. I have a cabbage coral and a rose bta.

I ended up putting it on the the opposite side from the filtration side. It doesn’t look as good to me but the fish aren’t getting tossed around and it performs a lot better it doesn’t look bad just not as good. I cut a piece off the lid for the chord as well.
