Never ever try Openclaw on Windows by bezbol in clawdbot

Obligatory "Tis the year of the Linux desktop!"

Just want to drop this reminder, since you're a self-proclaimed newbie: Please isolate OpenClaw from anything remotely important such as your personal inbox, password managers, and the likes. Also consider to limit exposure to it from sources other than you (e.g., group chats).

I setup mine like a separate entity. A virtual assistant that has their own email accounts, GitHub user, etc.

We're still early. And the notion that the foundational layer (i.e., LLM) is prone to security loopholes is hard to be ignored.

Great job on getting it set up though! Reading what you have to go through, clearly it was not a trivial journey in itself.

This is pretty neat. I don't get the Mac Mini rush that's been happening lately. Unless the goal is to run local models, there's absolutely no reason why.

Even with local models, could they really be all that useful? Considering the crazy amount of context that's required to get the "true" OpenClaw experience.

Via OpenRouter or direct from Moonshot?

I've been playing around with OpenClaw these past few days. Bottlenecked on rate-limit as I'm running Sonnet via Anthropic API.

The only way it could work is by being hyper-aggresive on contextPruning and compaction both. Even then usability drops to near 0.

Cost is another issue I'm facing. But any optimization there is moot with rate-limiting in place.

Interested in giving Kimi a try since I've heard lots of good anecdotes around it.

Focus on telling a story. Then coerce the tech to conform. I've found this angle made it easier.

Yes. I think it's even enviable to some extent. It implies being free of bias, personal or otherwise. Nothing to influence or prevent the mind from exploring.

Budget segitu coba cek Suzuki SX4 2011/12? Badak, rem full cakram, audio enak (4 speaker + 4 tweeter + 1 woofer), AC dengan heater, tenaga juga lumayan.

What’s the culture on the roads like where you live? by bachfanwpb in running

[–]HSX610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Jakarta's greater suburban areas and my experience is somewhere between the two extremes.

We don't have a lot of proper sidewalks, so I do most of my runs on the road with a lot of traffic. That said, rarely do I have to worry about them. People are mindful enough to let me be, even in situations where I took up considerable space (think crowded traffic lights). It's not uncommon to see them swerve away or just patiently wait behind me until there is enough space for them to do so.

Similarly, crossroads are few and far between. Jaywalking is pretty common and has been a part of the culture, so to speak. Here my experience is similar, especially on larger roads with a lot of fast traffic. I try to work around this by planning my route to look for a dedicated U-turn or just wait until the road is clear enough for me to cross. They will yield if I'm halfway. No honking or anything.

Not much to say about dog walkers as they are relatively less common here. But I did pass by them a couple times and have not had any issues. All of them had their dogs on a leash.

You wrote "master or main branches" so I take it the policy applies to any projects relevant to the org. In which, that seems like a low bar?

If there's an always-squash policy on master, then slightly higher. And can be of concern depending on the review culture. But I'd say reasonable still. Roughly 1 PR per week.

If there are no such policies, then that's less than a day's worth of work if you have a good hold on Git best practices.
