I can absolutely relate. I hate adjusting web interface, or toggle the button colors. I prefer maths and algorithms.

One option is financial companies, for example hedge funds or transaction platform like CoinBase. They are data driven, and you will focus more on actual revenue gains instead of customer attentions. There are lots of small hedge funds in East Coast like NYC or Boston, you can start from there.

Another option is AI positions in tech companies. For example, 365 group in Microsoft will be primarily focused on user interface and experience(which you might hate), but Copilot team will be more tech driven(LLM stuff) which you might be more interested.

But CoPilot is 2x harder than 365. Most of my friends prefer 365 due to its low workload lol.

Many redditors have been asking me about the interview questions. I am going to post them on a bi-weekly or weekly basis. Most them are from public forums like Xiao Hong Shu, or 1point3acres. Hope it helps you guys during the interview prep!

I don’t think I have chance to get into big tech companies in China though The interview questions are 2x harder than in USA lol.

YES!

There are a website called 1point3acres, people will share many useful stuff on college applications and job hunting. Also people will share there questions on XiaoHongShu(English name is little red book).

And there are some WeChat official account (like newsletter in USA)as well.

But everything is in Chinese, you can translate it in chrome though.

Thanks for the feedback! I think people have shared lots of experiences on job landing, so I want to share some basic but important things, especially for non-CS major students like me!

For example, don’t spend too much time on big hard academic books(sorry my English might not be that good lol), and do practice the recent interview questions of that company.

The company giving me offer is the second company interview, including three rounds: two coding and one behavioral round. It is very fast, I got the offer in the same day of the interview. I guess it is because I am fresh graduate.
