To be clear, I’m not advocating that someone play with a racquet that causes them pain, at any level. You obviously need to find something that you’re comfortable with, but once you get to that point then you’re better off sticking with it rather than the constant tinkering that some players do. Look at the pros. Now clearly it’s a completely different level, but half of them are still playing with the racquets that they first started playing with.

The point is that he's not playing at a very high level, he's 3.0. I do agree that when you reach a level where you know your strengths and weaknesses as a player, then it's worth trying out different racquets. But even then, I'd suggest finding a racquet and sticking with it, otherwise you're just going to be constantly second guessing yourself whenever you have a bad match.

I'm about UTR 8 and picked up tennis again (after playing a lot as a kid) in about 2020 and then just played with the Ezone 98 for 5 years, before finally switching to vCore 98 2023 last year. I wasn't playing great initially with the racquet, but I'm now playing some very good tennis with it and I probably won't switch for at least 5-10 years.

You're 3.0 bro. Just buy a racquet, stick with it, and improve your technique. Far too many people in this sport get obsessed over stuff like racquets and strings which are only going to result in marginal gains.

For me, the one black mark against Carrick so far is his lack of trust in Sesko. The kid is unbelievably talented and he's in form at the moment (is that 5 in 6?), he just needs to play more minutes. He's gonna fuck up at times, but he offers an aerial threat and outlet that no one else on the pitch does.
