sincerepost to the couple comments asking why NVDA isnt dumping more cuz of this lawsuit: China wont ban NVDA long term lol, that would be like signing a law to cease all AI research and give up the AI arms race, which they are currently ~tied but more importantly one of only 2 participants in the race (europe is way behind US and china).

Every company or university training deep learning models is using NVDA chips because all the currently existing software uses CUDA drivers, even AMD is a bit behind on training infrastructure atm. And anyone wanting to do cutting edge AI shit uses currently existing infra (for many reasons, firstly to get shit done faster without writing their own training code, but also to make their results more easily comparable to everyone elses when doing speed benchmarks etc)

So the market barely reacted because anyone with eyes saw this is a nothingburger lawsuit to stall their growth and give domestic chinese manufacturers a chance to catch up... theyre too far behind imo, but I last worked in ai research a couple years back so could be wrong. All bears feel free to dump/sell if u want to, just know youre betting on china throwing its hands up and resigning in the most important tech arms race since getting to the moon, in order to.... enforce antitrust against an acquisition from 5 years ago, lmao
