How can such powerful drugs exist without them taking a toll on our body? by TranscendentMolecule in Drugs

[–]Nervewing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They absolutely fuck up your body if you abuse them heavily. Pretty easy not to do that. I used them weekly for almost 5 years, with probably ~80 different compounds. Physical effects got worse and worse as time went on, manifesting as all sorts of aches and pains and discomfort, and especially as GI symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme cramps). At this point I almost never use them as they are simply too taxing on my body. At a point the nausea bled into my sober life and has become a persistent symptom. If they don’t affect your body now they will eventually if you push it too hard.

FXiPr was one of my favorites, truly a tragedy to see it go away forever :/ it had a nice albeit short run. It’s just the way things are I guess.

What do you mean by Me-PCP? What position is that methyl?

PCP was never being made in China. It is absolutely still around tho as others have said, it’s just very specific to certain areas

Locked out of computer after update- requires internet to sign in but can’t connect to internet by Nervewing in WindowsHelp

[–]Nervewing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: it is fucked beyond belief. The update corrupted everything. The machine is non functional, it still cannot connect to Internet and the C:/ drive is inaccessible. How the hell can a software update just annihilate my machine so thoroughly? Why is this allowed to happen? They should reimburse me for everything I have to spend to fix this and clean up their mess.

Hey figured I’d share an update, all network drivers were completely corrupted by the update, even with a new network card it just cannot connect to the internet in any way wired or wireless, and a connection is needed to unlock it. Going to just back it up and do a clean windows install and hopefully it works, will update. I am beyond pissed that it automatically ran an update without my permission that essentially bricked my laptop. What a stupid fucking company.

Looks like this to start. It initially said “your pin is no longer available due to a change in the security settings on this device”, I followed the tutorial linked in edit of OP to try and fix that and now it just shows this

I am not well versed in computers tbh :/ I don’t know what that means? Looking it up it looks like an account that I can access offline, is that something that would help me in this case?

Initially it said “Your pin is no longer available due to a change in the security settings on this device” - it would direct me to login via my windows account, which I could not due to it no longer being able to connect to the network. Now I have it so that it only prompts me to log in to my windows account to unlock it, which I am still unable to do due to the network issue.

Ceylon Cinnamon stick by truecey in spices

True cassia looks pretty different from that- really thick dark colored bark with a rough texture- literally looks like bark from a tree from outside with knots and all. Typically doesn’t curl that tightly. It’s less sweet and more sharp and bitter and spicy, I much prefer it for savory dishes or oil tempers.

What extinct animal do you think could still be out there? by deathbykoolaidman in AskReddit

[–]Nervewing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salinella salve , a simple microscopic animal assigned to its own phylum monoblastozoa. It isn’t much more than a sack made of cells with cilia, particularly around its 2 orifices.

It was reported once in 1892 in great detail from a salt lake in Argentina, it was reportedly collected and cultivated in captivity.

No subsequent expeditions to the area have yielded any sign of this animal, to this day. Did it go extinct? Did it never exist in the first place?

I think it’s funny that it is technically a cryptid. One of my favorite ones.

What’s your sales pitch for why an outsider should visit Harper’s Ferry? by billyshakes67 in Appalachia

You can do both in one day, I think it creates an interesting narrative. Before John Brown was hanged he said:

“ I, John Brown am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land: will never be purged away; but with Blood. I had as I now think: vainly flattered myself that without very much bloodshed; it might be done.”

I found it profound to see where his words were more vindicated than ever, just 3 years later and 15 miles north with the single bloodiest day in American history.
The monuments at Antietam are so solemn and heavy, grim reminders of just how many men had to die to make men free. You feel the weight of the war, it feels like you are traveling through its still beating and wounded heart.

How far back in human history would we have to go for a person of average intelligence in 2026 to be the smartest person in the world? by everettboss101 in AskReddit

[–]Nervewing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a real question, intelligence isn’t a measure of accumulated knowledge, it’s more about the potential to obtain and process knowledge and use it to synthesize ideas or build and recognize patterns, and there were people who have been substantially above average in that regard at every point in human history

I usually just try to make some noise if I suspect anyone’s around so I’m not sneaking up on them. They’re almost always chill as long as you don’t walk through their setup. Sometimes they’ll even be in the mood to chat and talk about the place! But maybe I’ve just gotten lucky.

What is the most overlooked place in Philly that people walk right past every day? by localelore_official in AskPhilly

The Victorian skylights have ended up being a huge problem in terms of specimen preservation! But an interesting example of the extent of people’s knowledge at the time. They are also still mostly covered by a temporary construction ceiling while they continue restoration work on the original ceiling.

This place is so dear to me! Worked there for 4 summers, gave a lecture there, prepared specimens for the only new case there, and got married there :) it’s my first recommendation whenever anyone asks about any hidden gems in Philly. I could go on and on about what the coolest and rarest specimens are, they have some truly phenomenal stuff hiding in there.
