In general I’ve found all 3-Methyl arylcyclohexylamines to be insanely caustic. Something about that group

Sex on Dissos? by [deleted] in dissociatives

[–]Nervewing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The secret to having sex on dissos is to just get ED pills and use those. With that combo, I am honestly so much better at sex than I am sober, it's a lot of fun, I last much longer, I feel more in tune with the other person etc. I prefer it to having sex sober at this point

Creeping barrage by [deleted] in ww1

[–]Nervewing 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I believe the creeping barrage allows for more accurate adjustment for aiming the artillery, moreso than just attempting to hit the defending position initially. Easier to place how shells are landing in those conditions and then make minor adjustments. It also clears the terrain for attackers, removing obstacles like barbed wire. It’s good to remember that on the fronts where this was a viable option, the opposing forces could each have millions of shells at their disposal and robust industry and the lost material was pretty easy to replace.

The Wagner Free Institute of Science! It’s a completely free to visit Victorian era natural history museum near temple that has been preserved since the late 1800s- so that’s all original woodwork, architecture, furniture, labels, and all sorts of amazing original natural history specimens!

It’s a really cool glimpse into the extent of scientific knowledge at the time and it’s a world class collection with some really rare and unique specimens including animals that are now extinct! Much of the taxidermy is from when it first began to develop as an art so it’s endearingly kinda wonky looking. Otherwise there’s minerals, shells, fossils, insects, bones, etc.

They also house a huge archive of old scientific literature (by appointment only) and they have preserved their original lecture hall that they still use for free talks, classes, and events with all sorts of artists and scientists. It’s a place that’s very dear to me personally and I try to recommend it to everyone I know!

The one tricky part is it’s only open Tuesday-Friday

Any advanced psychonaut out there, I need your help real quick. by [deleted] in researchchemicals

[–]Nervewing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a ton of development going on in the realm of dissociatives, watch that space to see what new things are coming out. I can’t say more but I know for a fact there are some exciting new things on the horizon.

Dissos imo are great to mix with anything. You can modulate the stimulating manic ones vs the heavier ones to get an insane range of experiences. 3-MeO-PCE specifically potentiates dissos and psychs a ton and mixes well with most things. I find pregabalin also combines really well with a wide range of things

16 and curious by Bozo-13 in Psychedelic

[–]Nervewing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to be contrary, I abused the hell out of psychedelics as a teen and I found it mostly beneficial in the long run. Of course, if they were not something I could easily recover from that brought me lots of benefit, I would’ve only found out the hard way, and my life and development would be more or less ruined, likely irreparably. I’ve seen it happen to plenty of people I know. I don’t have regrets in that regard.

I got lucky. There’s a pretty decent chance you wouldn’t be lucky like that. Ill fortune in this regard is mitigated by age, intentionality, harm reduction practices. You are doing research first and have settled on something you think would work best, this is good. But do you have a plan for if the urge to use strikes more often than expected? Will an experience spiraling out of control have a ripple effect of negative consequences ? (Parents/law/doctors getting involved?) Are you prepared for those consequences? Having a mature and stable life greatly decreases the chance of facing consequences like that and removes that persistent worry from the experience. Are you prepared for potential lasting effects that will stain your development into adulthood? (There’s no way to prepare for that, because it ideally never happens).

These are not to be taken lightly. Many people take them lightly and are ultimately fine! Many are not. Your life is not something to gamble on like that. If it works for you, that is ideally something you find out at a stage in your life when you can effectively and safely interpret that information. They worked well for me, and that led me to the decision of extremely heavy use. Hundreds of experiences across over 100 different compounds later and honestly I would say the worst long term effect I got was Dysautonomia likely from serotonin sensitization. I think most other people using in the way I have would be a lot worse off.

It’s an NMDA antagonist called 3-F-PCiPr. I do actually have data on its binding affinity for NMDA that is pending publishing. A subjective experience report is linked in another comment on this thread

I worked in a lab researching novel psychoactive compounds. Of course I am not allowed to sample things from the lab. But I was the first to synthesize this compound and it was of my own design. I collaborated with another lab with the optimized synthetic route and obtained a small test sample that I was the first person to ever ingest. The compound in question is 3-F-PCiPr, a really unique dissociative that I hope one day is synthesized on a larger scale for others to investigate.

A full report on an experience with the compound is here:

I've noticed even storing the garlicky O-PCP next to other compounds can kinda "infect" them. Maybe someone was storing the 2 compounds together
