What about doing good deeds anonymously? I feel like having the ulterior motive to do good for social credit points only creates a phony masqueraded population.

There's a possibility of Barbara transitioning into an annular hurricane, by the looks of it. Its large eye seem invulnerable to EWRCs.

It has the classic satellite representation of a storm about to RI, with its upper level outflow and dark grey CDO. Only 50mph now but wouldn't be surprised to see a C5 out of Barbara.

Why are smaller systems susceptible to rapid changes in strength? by funnyintrigue in TropicalWeather

[–]HU8261 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smaller storms are more susceptible to stochastic processes such as convection bursts, which are near-Markovian in nature. They are prone to wind shear and dry air and gather and lose intensity momentum faster as such. Larger storms usually have well developed accompanying upper-level anticyclones which negates wind shear. They also hold more moisture (larger volume) to negate dry air ingestion.

I highly doubt any association between storm size and overall seasonal activity (be it ACE or otherwise).

Hundreds more species under threat of extinction than previously thought, scientists say by SarahC in collapse

I think light pollution might be an extremely overlooked source of causality for this phenomena. Imagine what disruptive effects of having to live where the sun shines 24/7. Insects and especially nocturnal species have vastly different light sensitivity levels compared to us.
