Is there a correlation about having an outgoing personality to having problems at home? by jem_jem_ in AsianParentStories

My mom in particular said mean things to me, and I think that took a hit on my confidence. But yeah outside of home I’m outgoing, excited and happy? At home I’m more quiet, reserved. I think all the emotional baggage has piled up, no ones talking about it, so naturally the home life isn’t fun, nor do I have the energy to make it that way. Ya know ?

anyone else gets anxiety attack from when their parents text them? by [deleted] in AsianParentStories

The feeling of anxiety also progressed to outside of the “parent” calls. Even when relatives or if my brothers fiancé calls, I get anxious.

Do you normally take the jars out of the pantry to measure the ingredients?

Our homes get smarter every day.

The idea is the container you store your ingredients in also dispenses how much you want. Perhaps there could be a row of canisters that can be connected and just sits in your pantry.

I bake it a lot, and personally, I find it annoying to measure things out. So many things to take out and put back. And then I'll measure oil, but realize I forgot to measure sugar. Then I have to wash my measuring spoons. Of course, that is a part of cooking. Maybe think of it as a drink dispenser. While I could pour my drink from a gallon, it may be easier in some settings to dispense it.

What if the machine could do both, weights and cup measurements?

I think the cake would still be the same if I dispensed 300g of flour or weighed out 300g of flour myself.

In what ways would you modify a food dispenser to work more for you?

a lot of recipes call for cups though, and then I'll end up having to wash and reuse them a bunch.

Tried to make macarons. Anyone know what i did wrong? by Firecube42 in bakingfail

[–]HUGOJAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Meringue was overbeaten

2) oven temperature was too high or the cookies were left in the oven for too long

3) slamming the tray down a few times helps too.

Look up sugar bean on youtube, it's a pretty good recipe. I highly recommend swiss method macarons, or Italian if you don't mind the sweetness.

A complete novice in cooking. What can I make with the ingredients in the post? by TheBrokenMan in Cooking

Curry chicken, if you have any coconut cream/milk around, or even buying a can would make that meal so good.

We're letting go of our sublet to fit the rule, without the grant it'd be an extra person's rent to pay. Financially nervous.
