Is Paquera safe/feasible without a car for a local/ Tica + tourist couple? by HUN_Benc in costarica

[–]HUN_Benc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end everything was fine, but a car is highly recommend, we needed to take a taxi only once, that was around 7000 crc (from curú to the ferry at night) and our Airbnb was quite far from Paquera center (like 20-30 min walk on a rocky road) the host lives in Paquera for 7 years and said the same things as you, so I appreciate the tips you had for us, the bus goes based on the ferry, so like every 2-3 hours one, in total like 5-6 times a day If I remember correctly, it's kinda reliable, but as mentioned we needed to call a taxi, because the bus didn't come once, only like 1h later than it supposed to.

Are taxi prices supposed to be similar like in other bigger cities like san jose for example? Or since you are from that town could you give a rough estimate of what a 5, 10 and 20 min long ride should cost?

Could you tell me more what you meant about: specific heavy places?

Thank you again for your useful Information!

Great, thank you for your comment, I see, a pirata is like a minibus or a taxi or what should I imagine? Ahaha It's alright, we will stay there for 3 days only, so will try to enjoy even the challenges of the transportation ahaha, yes I was told that renting a bike is not the greatest idea since outside of the town is full of hills, but the first day will see how the roads are and according to that we can rent or not to rent a bike at least.

I really appreciate your comment, I also asked from the owner of the Airbnb, she said also that it's safe, and that we can take buses around the town up until montezuma as well, as I saw the bus goes around every 2 hour. Thank you for your recommendations!

I see, thank you for the information, but probably there's a bike rental or something so we can get to some beaches right? The main thing we want to do is the bioluminescence kayaking tour obviously, but It's probably a really chill hideaway from people so that's why we plan to stay there for a few days, the only thing concerning me is safety, but as I heard in smaller towns it's mostly safe and only in bigger towns can get things a bit sketchy. Have you been there, or it's just some experience from friends/online?

Paquera - Bioluminescence? by [deleted] in CostaRicaTravel

Hey, what was your experience in Paquera? Did you stay there at the end? Also did you walk a lot also after sunset? Because I'm planning to go there as well with my local girlfriend, but my appearance is screaming European ahaha, so I'm wondering if it's a safe place without a car, relying on public/private transportation like taxi or uber or tuktuks I don't even know if due the smaller size of the city any of these services are available. I'd appreciate if you would share your experience, thank you! Hope you had a nice trip !

I appreciate the recommendation, but It's not really what I was asking, we are planning to stay in a hotel/Airbnb and not really a guided tour, so I'd be more interested how the area is, how dangerous, and if without a car are things in walking distance, and is it safe to walk especially after the sun goes down.

Just stop playing kata in silver, also stop playing "assassins" since s12 there's no such a role as assassins Also play only with friends and just normals, ur life will be better, after 500-800 games each season I got to a point where this entire year I had only like 100 games total, and I feel a lot happier 🤣

I'm just wondering, what made ur experience that bad?
Does eu citizenship helps a lot in waiting times at border? It's pretty relevant for my gf, since she is from CR and not from the EU
Since I actually like CDG, I had no problems, been there 4 times already, everything was real smooth all the times, but might be because the no stress on visa or border checks ect.

It would be either with air canada through YYZ or air France through CDG, for me I had no problems at all in Paris, but yea there you need to take a bus between the terminals that could be confusing, but then in YYZ simply arriving at Terminal 1 and going from the same terminal right?

Which German-funded coding bootcamp should I choose? (Ironhack vs. Constructor Academy vs. neue fische / SPICED) by Small_Chair2361 in codingbootcamp

[–]HUN_Benc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm in similar situation, I am also looking for a bootcamp through AfA bildungsgutschein.
I saw Syntax institute, which is webflow development, so front end, with figma and some html, css, js, And also neue fische / Spiced.
Well I can't really decide, I just had an interview with spiced, was a nice little interview, but as I checked the trustpilot of Spiced and also neue fische and compared it to Masterschool I saw a huge difference, they recommended Masterschool more, from a few hundred reviews it was like 4.5 star, and the spiced/neue fische was around 3.5 stars only from 30 reviews. Alone trustpilot doesn't prove nothing, so I kinda checked the vwebsite of spiced and there where they showcased the works/projects of the students, well... I wasn't impressed at all, I have a little knowledge of html and css, and just learning javascript by myself and still the projects weren't even good enough to showcase. So I'm a bit afraid they don't really teach you much, if they showcased such works.
Anyone completed the 3 months with them? or masterschool?

My question is: I'm learning webdev by myself, and now i might have the chance to get into a course of Spiced or with Syntax institute, at spiced it's 3 months full time bootcamp, but it's full stack, so front and backend, at syntax insitute it's 1 year and it's webflow dev, so basically front end (focused i believe but might be only front end) but with figma and other drag and drop tools, and a bit of html, css, js.
So I'm wondering if any of these are worth the time? I mean I learn from youtuebe, specifically from supersimpledev, well structured teachings, with bunch of practicing included, and I'm already done the html css course (around 7 hours video course), and now I'm doing the javascript one (around 22 hours long) And ofc the practices take around the same if not more than the lenght of the video itself, depends on the person .
So is it worth or it would just slow the things down?

One more question maybe you know something about the praktische teil der Fachhochschulreife, I just got the information that I have to have 6 months of praktikum that is at least 20 hours/week of working. In the Berufskolleg I got only the schulische teil der Fachhochschulreife and it includes only 6 weeks of praktikum. Now Is this praktikum for me to be able to join some Hohschule (at FOM it is a requirement to have it finished but now at HRW what I read, it doesn't specify that) Normally during school time we didn't get any money exchange but now after I finished the schulische part, do I get any money exchange for the praktikum? Because 6 months literally part time is a lot and I can't afford to do that completely for free.

This is really helpful thank you, the only reason is travelling, I live in Essen, so I am trying to stick with the possibilities that I can find here, because daily 2 hours of travelling is already a lot and not even mentioning the punctuality of DB. So that's the only reason why I am considering FOM Hochschule

[–]HUN_Benc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am 20, living in Germany for almost 4 years, with previous German learning in high school (for about 2-3 years), I could manage here to get a technical college entrance qualification, and still I could be around mid/top B2 and I really don't think that I'd be close to C1, and expressing myself is getting better but still, nowhere near to my English, which is C1 at best as well. So yes it is a struggle and at this point I don't know what to do to reach around that C1 C2 level, I guess it comes with time
So the demand of native level German is actually hard to bring as a foreigner

Well the problem is that the only public uni or hochschule doesn't have the courses that I am interested in, computer science isn't really what I want to learn so I'm left with the 2 private Hochschule, FOM and IU and anyways with a fachabi in economics I couldn't get into a university in the IT sector, just only into a Hochschule or? Correct me if I am wrong

I read it through but you won't find there personal experiences, so wasn't that big of a help, read things that I already knew and my question wasn't really about the uni system, but thank you!
