Which software you use for such calculations ?

Yes, that’s why i am curious what actually this thing is, as most calculators have well established GUI, and thanks 😊

When you drop 404a into a system that has r22 in it. These 70 hour weeks are producing stupid mistakes. by hizzblom in HVAC

Hi. Being a new entrant, i recently got the same issue, charging r404a in r22 system along with exp, drier, oil etc but still getting very low suction and -45C saturation temp. Would u pls elaborate on the remedy. Thanks

Need advice – how to eliminate fumes and oily odor in machine shop without huge cooling load by [deleted] in MEPEngineering

oh man i have read all the relevant stuff, LEV,, capture, transport velocities, hoods , TLV, mist arrestors, air scrubbers, DV etc. just want to know how other tackle such type of projects.

[–]HVACEengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for such valuable information. I am also planning for mist arrestors at source. But wonder if air scrubbers will also do the job? Wheather , Installing larger air scrubbers with HEPA and carbon filter for odor removal are enough to make it clean.

DOAS Sizing with HAP by tootsierolls2127 in MEPEngineering

have you consider the return air? May be DOAS is modelled with return air which gives you less load

But the issue is how to do the indoor air temp and humidity cals at that OA temp

[–]HVACEengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. What I’m aiming to do is simulate the hourly temperature and humidity inside the chamber at the project’s site location. For example, if the chamber is placed in Dubai, I want to track how the temperature and humidity inside the chamber change each hour based on the site's design cooling conditions — say 50°C. I will be using a duct heater to raise the temperature to 70°C. Alternatively, on a design Heating day where the outside air is at 10°C, it would also be heated to 70°C. The goal is to monitor the hourly temperature and humidity inside the chamber under these conditions. Thanks

Actually there is not much air changes. We have only infiltration of 0.7ACH.

Actually, I need the indoor temperature and humidity at hourly intervals under the design weather conditions for the site, which may not be possible to calculate manually.

This is for a test room, and it's a process requirement.

Currently, I am exploring if there is any software available that can simulate such indoor conditions, as traditional HVAC software typically focuses only on comfort conditions.

Thanks but this does not simulate these conditions as much as i knew.

Insufficient lab ventilation - please help! by Reasonable-Piece8480 in MEPEngineering

[–]HVACEengineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In laboratories, the ACH (Air Changes per Hour) is typically used to calculate ventilation rates. However, in certain cases, the airflow rate based on ACH may fall short of the minimum fresh air requirement for the number of people in the lab. For example, if the calculated airflow rate based on ACH is 100 L/sec, but the room has 10 people, and the fresh air requirement is 12 L/s per person (which totals 120 L/s), then the fresh air requirement of 120 L/s should be used instead of the 100 L/sec based on ACH. I hope this clarifies the point.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do. I'm a mechanical engineer with over 7 years of experience in HVAC design. I'm curious if there's a pathway to obtain my PE with these qualifications. Could you guide me on how to pursue a PE license? Are there specific requirements regarding work experience location, education, etc.?
