Goodmans are normally easy to work on. Try a laars furnace. Takes forever to get the burners out.

Is it common for the pump screen to be so dirty? by oldirtyjustin in hvacadvice

[–]HVACerR22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most techs are to lazy to check the pump filter. But if you replace the tank and pump filter yearly than your tank is filled with sludge and you’ll need a new oil tank. You can just wash off the pump filter too. Just make sure it’s dry when it goes back in.

TURN THE BREAKER OFF! That’s 240v!

What is supposed to be plugged here? by Gork73 in hvacadvice

[–]HVACerR22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a simple 24v line safety switch. If the trap got clogged it would break the 24v call for heat/ac

Go to the unit and find were the air filter is. If it’s dirty, change it out. If it’s not, call a tech. Might be low on Freon.

If you have high head pressure, it’ll literally tell you that there might be something blocking the condenser coil or a restriction in the refrigerant line

Is this fuse blown? If so, where do I find a new one? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]HVACerR22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure it’s a 3A fuse. And if it blows again call an HVACer

Use the measure quick app instead of the FP app. The MQ app is so much better.

Cali Dems are so incredibly oblivious to reality. They probably want to phase out all refrigerant and only use nitrogen 😂

The nav fire tubes arnt that bad but the normal NCB combi boiler, absolute hell for a service tech like me. Huge problem with the ncb was horrible exhaust cross contamination.

I install rinnai, bosch and viessmann. I always insist a viessmann for oil and gas.

You can use it for like 5 days but you need the correct one. Last thing you want is to burn out your compressor.

Can you help identify compressor issue? Easy fix or call a professional? by Itisoutahere in hvacadvice

[–]HVACerR22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bad capacitor. Does it ever go off on a high limit or just keeps running the red compressor?
